What is Dismenol Formel L forte and when is it used?

Dismenol Formel L forte contains the active ingredient ibuprofen as lysinate. This has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory properties.Dismenol Formel L forte is suitable for short-term treatment, i.e. for a maximum of 3 days treatment of:

  • Pain in the area of ??joints and ligaments;Back pain;Headache;Toothache;Pain during the menstrual period ;Pain after injury;Fever with influenza.

When must Dismenol Formel L forte not be taken?

Dismenol Formel L forte must not be used

  • if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or after taking Acetylsali cylic acid or other painkillers or rheumatism drugs, so-called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, had shortness of breath or allergy-like skin reactions;if you are pregnant or breastfeeding (see also «Can Dismenol Formel L forte be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?»);if you have active stomach and/or duodenal ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding;if you have chronic intestinal inflammation (M orbus Crohn, ulcerative colitis);in severe impairment of liver or kidney function;in severe heart failure;for the treatment of pain after coronary bypass surgery on the heart (or use of a heart-lung machine);in children under 12 years of age. Dismenol Formel L forte has not been tested for use in children under the age of 12.

When is caution required when taking Dismenol Formel L forte?

During treatment with Dismenol Formel L forte, mucosal ulcers in the upper gastrointestinal tract, rarely bleeding or, in isolated cases, perforations (gastrointestinal passages). fractures) occur. It is therefore possible that Dismenol Formel L forte may delay adequate treatment of the infection, which may lead to an increased risk of complications. This has been seen in bacterial pneumonia and bacterial skin infections associated with chickenpox. If you are taking this medicine during an infection and your infection symptoms persist or worsen, consult a doctor immediately.Older people may be more sensitive to the medicine than younger adults. It is particularly important that elderly patients report any side effects to their doctor immediately.

You may only take Dismenol Formel L forte on prescription and under medical supervision in the following situations:

  • if you are currently being treated by a doctor for a serious illness;if you have previously suffered from a stomach or duodenal ulcer;if you have already had a heart attack, heart disease, including heart failure (heart failure)and angina (chest pain), a bypass operation, peripheral artery disease (poor circulation in the legs or feet due to narrow or blocked arteries), or any type of stroke (including mini-stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA) or thrombosis in a vein, or if you have risk factors (such as high blood pressure, diabetes (diabetes), high blood fat levels, smoking); for certain similar-acting painkillers called COX- 2 inhibitors, an increased risk of heart attack and stroke has been reported with high doses and/or long-term treatment. Anti-inflammatories/painkillers such as ibuprofen may be associated with a small increased risk of heart attack or stroke, especially when used in high doses. Do not exceed the recommended dose or duration of treatment.if you have heart or kidney problems, if you are taking medicines for high blood pressure (e.g. diuretics, ACE inhibitors) or in the event of increased fluid loss, e.g. through heavy sweating; taking Dismenol Formel L forte can impair the function of your kidneys, which can lead to an increase in blood pressure and/or fluid retention (oedema).if you have liver disease;if you are being treated with anticoagulants (blood thinners, anticoagulants) or suffer from a blood clotting disorder;if you suffer from asthma;if you are taking antirheumatic medicines or other pain medicines (e.g. acetylsalicylic acid, aspirin);if you are taking medicines to treat diabetes (other than insulin), medicines to increase urine output (diuretics), medicines to treat infections (quinolone antibiotics) or medicines containing any of the following: lithium, digoxin, methotrexate, baclofen, ciclosporin, zidovudine, phenytoin, probenecid or sulfinpyrazone.

Prolonged use of any type of pain reliever for headaches can make them worse. If this occurs or is suspected, medical advice should be sought and treatment discontinued. A diagnosis of Medication Overuse Headache (MOH) should be suspected in patients who suffer from frequent or daily headaches despite (or because of) their regular use of headache medication.There is a risk of kidney dysfunction in dehydrated children and adolescents.You should not drink alcohol when taking Dismenol Formel L forte.When using Dismenol Formel L forte in higher doses, central nervous side effects such as tiredness and dizziness can occur occur. Therefore, in individual cases, the ability to react may be altered and the ability to actively participate in road traffic and to operate machines may be impaired. Can Dismenol Formel L forte be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, you should only take Dismenol Formel L forte after consulting your doctor. Dismenol Formel L forte must not be taken during the last third of pregnancy.

Breastfeeding

Dismenol Formel L forte should not be taken while breastfeeding unless your doctor has expressly permitted it.

How do you use Dismenol Formel L forte?

Adults and children over 12 years

Take 1 film tablet Dismenol Formel L forte whole with plenty of liquid during or after a meal. Maintain an interval of 6-8 hours between two single doses. Do not take more than 3 film-coated tablets of Dismenol Formel Lforte (= 1200 mg ibuprofen) per day without a doctor's prescription.Do not use Dismenol Formel L forte for longer than 3 days without a doctor's prescription.

Children under the age of 12

Dismenol Formel L forte must not be used in children under the age of 12. The use and safety of Dismenol Formel L forte in children under the age of 12 has not yet been systematically tested.

Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor.

The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms. If you have an infection, consult a doctor immediately if the symptoms (e.g. fever and pain) persist or worsen (see «When should you take caution when taking Dismenol Formel L forte»).If you have taken more Dismenol Formel L forte than you should, or if children have accidentally taken the medicine, always contact a doctor for an assessment of the risk and advice on further treatment get.Symptoms may include nausea, stomach pain, vomiting (possibly with blood), headache, ringing in the ears, confusion, and eye tremors. What side effects can Dismenol Formel L forte have?

The following side effects can occur when taking Dismenol Formel L forte:

Common (affects 1 to 10 out of 100 users)

Rarely (affects 1 to 10 out of 10,000 users)

Ringing in the ears (tinnitus) occurs after taking Dismenol Formel L forte.

Very Rarely (affects less than 1 in 10,000 users)

Immediate medical attention is required if one of these symptoms occurs, which can occur even with the first application.The following side effects may also occur very rarely: psychotic reactions, depression; Liver dysfunction, liver damage, especially in long-term therapy, liver failure, acute liver inflammation; Increased water retention in the tissues (oedema), especially in patients with high blood pressure or impaired kidney function; nephrotic syndrome (water retention in the body (oedema) and excessive protein excretion in the urine); Inflammatory kidney disease, which can be accompanied by acute renal dysfunction, damage to kidney tissue and increased levels of uric acid in the blood. If the symptoms mentioned occur or worsen, you must discontinue Dismenol Formel L forte and contact your doctor immediately.Severe skin reactions such as skin rashes with reddening and blistering (e.g. Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis/Lyell syndrome) and hair loss have been observed very rarely.

Individual cases

In Exceptional cases of severe skin infections and soft tissue complications can occur during chickenpox infection.With an unknown frequency, a serious skin reaction known as DRESS syndrome can occur. Symptoms of DRESS include rash, fever, swollen lymph nodes and an increase in eosinophils (a type of white blood cell).A red, scaly, widespread rash with bumps under the skin and blisters accompanied by fever and primarily on the skin folds, trunk and upper extremities (acute generalized pustular rash) has been observed at the start of treatment with an unknown frequency. Stop using Dismenol Formel L forte if you develop these symptoms and seek medical treatment immediately (see also "When is caution required when taking Dismenol Formel L forte?").If signs of an infection (e.g. reddening, swelling, overheating, pain, fever) appear or worsen while using Dismenol Formel L forte, you should consult your doctor immediately.If you notice side effects , contact your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
