What is Otri Hay fever and when is it used?
Otri Hay fever has a local antiallergic and anti-inflammatory effect in the nose and is used in adults over 18 years of age to treat hay fever or other seasonal allergic nasal discomfort. The full effect only occurs after a few days.
When should Otri hay fever not be used?
Otri hay fever should not be used if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient beclometasone dipropionate or one of the excipients (see «What does Otri hay fever contain?»).
When should caution be exercised when using Otri hay fever?
Otri hay fever is not for immediate treatment relief of an acute allergic cold (hay fever). The full effect only occurs after a few days.If there is a local infection in the nasopharynx or if your nose has recently been injured or operated on or is suppurative, you should only use Otri Hay fever after consulting a doctor.Allergic eye problems (itching, excessive tearing) are not affected by Otri Hay fever and require additional treatment if they are bothersome.With excessive use or long-term use Children cannot be ruled out the possibility of growth retardation. The doctor will therefore carefully monitor the growth development of children who are treated with Otri hay fever over a long period of time.
Contact your doctor if you experience blurred vision or other visual disturbances.
If you are taking other medicines at the same time, this can lead to an increased occurrence of undesirable effects. The following medicines should be avoided at the same time:
- Medicines to treat fungal diseases (e.g. containing the active substance ketoconazole)Medicines that suppress the immune systemMedicines to treat HIV infections (e.g. containing the active substance ritonavir or cobicistat).
Consult your doctor before taking such a medicine or your doctor.Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you
- suffer from other illnesses,have allergies oruse other medicines (including those you bought yourself!).
Can Otri Hay fever be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
If you are pregnant or if it you should only use Otri Heuschnupfen after consulting a doctor and only if it is absolutely necessary. Even if you are breastfeeding, the preparation may only be used on medical advice.
How do you use Otri Heuschnupfen?
Otri Heuschnuppfen is only intended for use in the nose. It is important to use Otri Hay fever regularly as the full effect takes a few days.
Adults over 18 years of age:
2 single doses twice a day or 1 single dose in each nostril 3 to 4 times a day.The maximum daily dosage should not exceed 4 single doses in each nostril.If after 14 days of treatment there is no improvement in symptoms occurs, the doctor should be consulted.
Children and adolescents under the age of 18:
Otri Hay fever may only be used in children and adolescents under the age of 18 in accordance with the doctor's instructions.
Observe the instructions given in the leaflet or the doctor or dosage prescribed by the doctor. If you think the medicine is workingweak or too strong, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Instructions for use:
1. Blow your nose carefully. Then remove the plastic cap from the nosepiece and shake the nasal spray.2. Before the very first use, the pumping device must be filled. To do this, hold the spray vertically between your index/middle finger and thumb as shown in the illustration and squeeze once.3. Tilt your head forward and pinch one nostril. Insert the nosepiece into the other nostril.4. Squeeze the nasal spray between your index/middle finger and thumb. Inhale through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth. So 1 single dose has been applied.5. If 2 single doses are to be administered, repeat process 4. Spray the same dosage into the other nostril.6. After use, wipe the nasal attachment with a paper or cloth handkerchief and put the plastic cap back on.
What side effects can Otri Hay fever have?
The following side effects can occur when using Otri Hay fever:During treatment, temporary dryness and irritation of the nose and throat, an unpleasant taste and smell, and nosebleeds can often occur.Rarely, increased intraocular pressure or Glaucoma (= glaucoma) and cataract (= gray star) have been reported.
In very rare cases, a perforation (breakthrough) of the nasal septum was found.
Hypersensitivity reactions (swelling of the face, swelling of the eyes, lips and throat; reddening, itching, hives; shortness of breath to severe circulatory reactions) have also been reported. In such cases, stop treatment immediately and consult a doctor immediately.
Stop treatment with Otri Hay fever and tell your doctor if you experience blurred vision or other visual disturbances, or if you experience any sign of illness that you suspect may be related to the use of Otri Hay fever.If you notice any side effects not listed here, you should tell your doctor or pharmacist

Do not store above 30 °C, but do not store in the refrigerator.
