What is Optiderm F and when is it used?

With the active ingredients polidocanol and urea, Optiderm F Crème leads to moisture regulation and stabilization of the skin condition in skin diseases with dehydration and itching. The water-binding capacity improves and the very dry and chapped areas of the skin become more oily.The itching, which is often severe, is permanently reduced.Optiderm F Crème is used for very dry and/or itchy skin and for the supportive treatment of various skin diseases, such as atopic eczema (neurodermatitis).You can also use the less greasy cream called Optiderm Cream for dry, itchy skin. Optiderm Lotion is ideal for large-area application.

When should Optiderm F not be used?

Optiderm F Cream should not be used in acute erythroderma (= inflammatory reddening and scaling of the skin all over the body) and for acutely inflamed, weeping and infected skin processes.Optiderm F Crème must not be used if you are hypersensitive to one of the ingredients.

When should Optiderm F Caution required?

Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

After application to injured or inflamed skin, irritation (e.g. reddening, burning) may occur.The excipient cetyl alcohol can cause local skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis).The active substance urea can increase the penetration through the skin barrier of other topically applied drugs (e.g. corticosteroids, dithranol and fluorouracil) when used at the same time .

Reports from the specialist literature indicate that the use of products containing urea in children can lead to mostly brief burning sensations on the skin. Please consult your doctor before using Optiderm F Crème on children.The simultaneous use of Optiderm F Crème in the genital or anal area and latex products (e.g. condoms, diaphragms) can cause of the contained auxiliary substance "viscous paraffin" can reduce the functionality and thus impair the safety of these products.

How do you use Optiderm F?

The use and safety of Optiderm F Crème in children under the age of 12 has not yet been tested.

What side effects can Optiderm F have?Uncommon (affects 1 to 10 users in 1000)

What does Optiderm F contain?

1 g cream contains:

Active ingredients

Urea 50 mg, macrogol-6- Lauryl ether (Polidocanol 470) 30 mg.

Excipients

Purified water, medium-chain triglycerides, viscous paraffin, isopropyl palmitate, cetyl alcohol 60 mg, macrogol stearyl ether 21, butane-1,3-diol, sodium lactate solution (50%), lactic acid, macrogol-2-stearyl ether, sodium edetate.
