What is Allergo-X and when is it used?
Allergo-X is effective in the basic treatment of allergic disorders. It blocks the action of histamine, which is released in the body during allergic reactions. Allergo-X is used in adults and children from the age of 12 to treat allergic diseases such as hay fever, allergic nasal discomfort and allergic conjunctivitis as well as chronic hives (which are often associated with itching).
When should Allergo-X not be used be used?
Patients who are hypersensitive to the active substance, other structurally related substances or any other component of Allergo-X must not use the preparation; Patients with galactosemia (rare metabolic disorder in which there is too much galactose in the blood) or severe lactose intolerance (inability to properly digest the lactose ingested with food) should not take the film-coated tablets as they contain lactose. When should caution be taken when taking Allergo-X?
Children under the age of 12 should not be treated with Allergo-X.Allergo-X is not known to interact with other medicines. However, alcohol should be avoided during treatment with Allergo-X, as the effects may be increased.
Caution should be exercised when driving a motor vehicle or operating machines, as Allergo-X increases the risk of drowsiness.Allergo-X should be used with caution in epileptics as it could potentially trigger seizures.If you have a predisposition to urinary retention (inability to empty the bladder spontaneously ), for example if you have a spinal cord injury or an enlarged prostate, please inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.Allergo-X film-coated tablets contain lactose. Please only take Allergo-X after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from an intolerance to sugar.

Can Allergo-X be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
In very limited clinical studies and in animal experiments, no undesirable effects have been found . However, like other medicines, Allergo-X should not be taken during pregnancy. If you accidentally take Allergo-X during pregnancy, no harmful effects on the unborn child are to be expected, but the treatment should be stopped immediately. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.Allergo-X should not be taken while breastfeeding, as it can be assumed that the active ingredient will pass into breast milk. Side effects associated with Allergo-X may occur in breastfed infants.
How do you use Allergo-X?For adults and children over 12 years old
The usual Dosage is 1 film-coated tablet daily.Allergo-X can be taken with or without meals. The film-coated tablet should be swallowed whole with liquid.
Children under the age of 12
In children under the age of 12, no dose adjustment is possible with Allergo-X. Here the use of a levocetirizine preparation is recommended, whichan adapted lower dosage is allowed (e.g. drops with the active ingredient levocetirizine).The duration of treatment depends on the type, duration and course of the symptoms and is determined by the doctor. Patients with impaired kidney function (kidney failure) may receive a lower dose, which depends on the severity of the kidney disease and is determined by your doctor.If you forget to take a dose, stop the treatment just go. Please do not take a double dose to make up for missed doses.Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What side effects can Allergo-X have?
The following side effects can occur when taking Allergo-X: tiredness and drowsiness, dry mouth, headache and lack of strength (exhaustion). In individual cases, hypersensitivity reactions (swelling of the lips, tongue, eyelids, itching, inflammatory skin rashes), photosensitivity of the skin, oedema, paresthesia (misperception of the skin in the form of "tingling", "pins and needles" etc.), gastrointestinal disorders, Palpitations, convulsions, abdominal pain, visual disturbances, eye spasms, muscle pain, joint pain, aggressive or restless behavior, insomnia, suicidal thoughts, nightmares, liver inflammation, liver dysfunction, vomiting, increased appetite, hallucinations, depression, dizziness, tremors, unconsciousness, changes in taste, weight gain, Urgent urination and urinary retention have been reported.After levocetirizine discontinuation, itching has been reported in a very small number of patients.Caution should be exercised when driving a motor vehicle or using machines.Caution is advised when taking Allergo-X with alcohol.If you experience any of these side effects, stop taking Allergo-X and tell your doctor.If you notice side effects, contact your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. This also applies in particular to side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.
