What are Sinupret drops and when are they used?
Sinupret drops contain gentian root, cowslip blossoms, common dock herb, elderflower and verbena. Sinupret has an expectorant (secretolytic) and anti-inflammatory (antiphlogistic) effect. As a result, Sinupret loosens thick mucus, reduces nasal congestion and allows blocked secretions to drain more easily. Sinupret drops are used for acute and chronic inflammation of the paranasal sinuses and airways, if necessary as an additional therapy to other therapies.
What should be considered?
If the symptoms last longer than 7 to 14 days or are associated with fever (over 38 °C), a doctor must be consulted.Note for diabetics: This medicine contains less than 0.02 g usable carbohydrates per single dose.
When should Sinupret drops not be used or should only be used with caution?
Do not use in children under 6 years of age without advice from a doctor.
This medicine contains 19% by volume alcohol.
Do not use if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.

Can Sinupret drops be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

How do you use Sinupret drops?
Adults and children from 12 years of age: 50 drops 3 times a dayChildren from 6 years of age: 25 drops 3 times a dayChildren from 2 years of age: 15 drops 3 times a day Drops as recommended by the doctor.
Sinupret drops are usually taken undiluted. For children, Sinupret drops can also be given in juice or tea.
Shake before use!
Observe the dosage specified in the package insert or prescribed by the doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What side effects can Sinupret drops have?
The following side effects can occur when taking Sinupret drops: Stomach intolerance has been reported in rare cases. Hypersensitivity reactions (reddening of the skin, rashes with blisters, shortness of breath) have been described in individual cases. In the latter cases, you should refrain from further intake and consult a doctor immediately.If you notice side effects, contact your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. This also applies in particular to side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.
What else should you watch out for?
The preparation is also available as an alcohol-free dragee. Hold the bottle upright to remove. A slight turbidity or flocculation may occur during storage, this does not affect the effect of the preparation. The medicine should be stored at room temperature (15-25°C) and out of the reach of children. The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked ?EXP? on the container.Once opened, Sinupret Drops can be kept for 3 months. What does Sinupret Drops contain?
1 g (1.020 ml) Sinupret Drops contains 290 mg of an alcoholic-aqueous extract (drug mixture-extract ratio 1:11, extractant alcohol 59% by volume) from:
Gentian root 2 mg;
Cowslip blossoms 6 mg;
Crispy dock herb 6 mg;
Elderflower 6 mg;
Verbena 6 mg.
