What is Sinupret Syrup and when is it used?
Sinupret Syrup contains gentian root, cowslip blossoms with calyx, common dock herb, elderflower and verbena. Sinupret has an expectorant (secretolytic) and anti-inflammatory (antiphlogistic) effect. Sinupret Syrup is used for acute and chronic inflammation of the paranasal sinuses and airways, if necessary as an additional therapy to other therapies.
What should be considered?
If the symptoms last longer than 7-14 days or are associated with fever (over 38°C), a doctor should be consulted. Sinupret syrup contains maltitol solution. Please only take Sinupret Syrup after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from an intolerance to certain sugars.Note for diabetics: This medicine contains an average of 3.5 g of usable carbohydrates per 7 ml.Maltitol solution can have a slight laxative effect.
When should Sinupret Syrup not be used or only with caution?
Do not use in children under 2 years of age.This medicinal product contains 8% alcohol by volume. If the recommended dosage is observed, up to 0.44 g of alcohol (in children from 2 to 6 years of age and up to 0.22 g of alcohol in children under 12 years of age) are consumed with each intake in adolescents from the age of 12 and adults. There is a health risk for people with liver diseases, alcoholics, epileptics, patients with organic diseases of the brain, pregnant and breastfeeding women, among others. The effect of other medicines may be increased or impaired.Do not use if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients. Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you
- suffer from other diseases,have allergies ortake other medicines (including those you bought yourself!).
Can Sinupret Syrup be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

What side effects can Sinupret Syrup have?
The following side effects can occur when taking Sinupret Syrup: Gastrointestinal complaints (e.g. stomach pain, nausea) have occasionally been reported. Occasionally, hypersensitivity reactions of the skin (skin rash, reddening of the skin, itching) can occur. Severe allergic reactions (swelling of the lips, tongue and throat and/or larynx with narrowing of the airways (angioedema), shortness of breath, swelling of the face) can also occur. In the latter cases, you should refrain from further intake and consult a doctor immediately.If you notice side effects, contact your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. This is especially true for NSide effects that are not specified in this leaflet.
What else needs to be considered?
The preparation is also available as an alcohol-free dragee. A slight turbidity or flocculation may occur during storage, this does not affect the effect of the preparation. The medicine should be stored at room temperature (15-25°C) and out of the reach of children. The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked ?EXP? on the container. Sinupret Syrup can be kept for 6 months after opening.

100 g (82.5 ml) Sinupret Syrup contain: 10 g of an alcoholic-aqueous extract (drug mixture-extract ratio 1:11, Extraction agent alcohol 59 vol. %) from:
gentian root; Cowslip flowers with calyx; Curly dock herb; elderflower; Vervain (1:3:3:3:3). Maltitol solution, flavorings (including vanillin) and other additives.Sinupret syrup contains 8% alcohol by volume.
