What is Sidroga Cough & Bronchial Tea and when is it used?

Sidroga Cough & Bronchial Tea is a powder containing dry extracts of liquorice root, marshmallow root and thyme oil and is traditionally used to loosen mucus and relieve irritation in coughs associated with colds.

What precautions should be taken?

If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 7 days, contact your doctor.

When should Sidroga Cough and Bronchial tea not be used or only with caution?

Sidroga Cough & Bronchial must not be used if there is a known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients (see "What does Sidroga Cough & Bronchial contain?") of the drug.Particular caution is required when using Sidroga Instant Cough & Bronchial Tea

  • if you have fever, shortness of breath, purulent or bloody sputum, or if you have symptoms that last longer than a week or are unclear. In these cases, a doctor should be consulted.if you use this medicine containing licorice root. Please refrain from consuming Sidroga Instant Cough & Bronchial Tea together with food containing liquorice (e.g. liquorice), since side effects such as reduced serum potassium levels in the blood, high blood pressure and cardiac arrhythmia can occur.if you have high blood pressure, liver disease, severe kidney disease, cardiovascular disease or low levels of serum potassium in the blood, as you are more sensitive to licorice root-related side effects. You should see a doctor.

Licorice root can reduce the effect of medicines that lower blood pressure.Medicinal products containing liquorice root (and foods such as liquorice) should not be taken together with certain medicinal products that increase urine output (eg thiazides), medicines that strengthen the heart muscle (cardiac glycosides), cortisone or cortisone-like substances, stimulant laxatives, or other medicines that cause electrolyte changes lead, be applied.For use in children under 3 years of age, there is insufficient knowledge of the effectiveness of the age-appropriate dosage and tolerability. Use in children under 3 years of age is therefore not recommended.There are no systematic studies on interactions with Sidroga Cough & Bronchial. Interactions with other drugs have not yet become known.Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you

Can Sidroga Cough & Bronchial Tea be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child when used as intended. However, systematic scientific investigations have never been carried out. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist for advice.

How do you use Sidroga Cough & Bronchial Tea?

Adults and adolescents from the age of 12 drink a cup of tea 3-4 times a day between meals.Children from 3 to 11 years drink a cup of tea 1-2 times a day between meals.Preparation: The content of a sachet is dissolved in 100-200 ml of water (any temperature) and drunk after dissolving. Use one sachet per cup.Follow the doses given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.It should not be taken for more than 7 days without medical supervision. If symptoms persist or if side effects not described here occur, you should consult a doctor or pharmacist.Medicines containing liquorice should generally not be used for more than 4 weeks.The use and safety of Sidroga Cough & Bronchial in children under 3 years of age has not yet been tested. The medicine is therefore not used in this age group.Signs of overdose with Sidroga Cough & Bronchial have not yet become known. Cases of overdose symptoms have been reported with long-term use or consumption of large amounts of liquorice root (liquorice). These correspond to the side effects described.If you have forgotten to take Sidroga Cough & Bronchial , do not take a double dose, but continue taking it according to the dosing instructions.If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Sidroga Cough & Bronchial Tea have?

The following side effects can occur when taking Sidroga Cough & Bronchial Tea:Allergic reactions (respiratory tract, skin) and gastrointestinal complaints can occur.Preparations with liquorice root (liquorice) can affect the mineral metabolism, especially if used for a long time. This manifests itself in the form of sodium and water retention, potassium losses with high blood pressure, increased intracranial pressure, cardiac arrhythmia or fluid accumulation in the tissue.The frequency of side effects is not known.If you notice any of the side effects mentioned above, in particular hypersensitivity reactions (signs such as facial swelling or reddening of the skin associated with itching) or accumulations of fluid in the tissue, discontinue Sidroga Instant Husten- & Bronchialtee and consult your doctor so that he or she can decide on the degree of severity and any necessary measures.If you notice any side effects that are not described here, you should inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
