In adults and children from the age of 3 years, Solmucol Bronchoprotect is indicated for the prophylaxis of recurrent respiratory infections.

Solmucol® Bronchoprotect
The effectiveness and safety of Solmucol® Bronchoprotect were only summarily reviewed by Swissmedic. The approval of Solmucol Bronchoprotect is based on Ismigen®, as of June 2020, which contains the same active ingredients and is approved in Poland.
What is Solmucol Bronchoprotect and when is it used?
In adults and children over the age of 3 years, Solmucol Bronchoprotect is indicated for the prophylaxis of recurrent respiratory infections.
When should Solmucol Bronchoprotect not be taken/used?
In the event of a known hypersensitivity (allergy) to Solmucol Bronchoprotect or one of its ingredients (see «What is contained in Solmucol Bronchoprotect?»).
When should caution be taken when taking Solmucol Bronchoprotect?
The use of Solmucol Bronchoprotect to prevent pneumonia is not recommended, as there are no clinical studies that support this prove effect. This medicinal product contains less than 1 mmol (23 mg) sodium per sublingual tablet, i.e. essentially 'sodium-free'. it is almost sodium free. Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you
- suffer from other illnesseshave allergies ortake other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally!
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Solmucol Bronchoprotect. No studies have been performed on the effects of this product on the ability to drive and use machines.
Can Solmucol Bronchoprotect be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding?Pregnancy

How do you use Solmucol Bronchoprotect?
Solmucol Bronchoprotect is used sublingually: let the tablet dissolve under the tongue until it is completely dissolved. The score line serves to simplify the intake, not to halve it into equal doses.
Adults and children from the age of 3
1 Solmucol Bronchoprotect tablet per day for 10 consecutive days per month for 3 months. Follow the dosage provided in the package insert or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. If you have taken more than the recommended dose of Solmucol Bronchoprotect, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
What side effects can Solmucol Bronchoprotect have?
The use of Solmucol Bronchoprotect can lead to the following side effects:
Gastrointestinal disorders
Frequency not known: Vomiting, stomatitis, abdominal pain and nausea.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders
Frequency not known: allergic reactions (hives, rash, itching and swelling).
Infections and infestations
Frequency not known: nasal discomfort.
General disorders and administration site conditions
Frequency not known: fever, headache.
Respiratory, thoracic and mediastinal disorders
Frequency not known: Cough, pain in the mouth and throat. If symptoms persist, stop treatment and tell your doctor. If you do notice any side effects, tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What else needs to be considered?
The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked «EXP» on the container.
Storage instructions
Store in the original packaging, not above 25 °C and out of the reach of children.
What does Solmucol Bronchoprotect contain?Active ingredients
1 sublingual tablet Solmucol Bronchoprotect contains 7 mg lyophilized bacterial lysate from Staphylococcus aureus 6 billion, Streptococcus pyogenes 6 billion, Streptococcus (viridans) oralis 6 billion, Klebsiella pneumoniae 6 billion , Klebsiella ozaenae 6 billion, Haemophilus influenzae 6 billion, Neisseria catarrhalis 6 billion, Streptococcus pneumoniae 6 billion (of which Type 1 - 1 billion, Type 2 - 1 billion, Type 3 - 1 billion, Type 5 - 1 billion, Type 8 - 1 billion, Type 47 - 1 billion). Other ingredientsare: glycine, silicon dioxide hydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal silicon dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, magnesium stearate, ammonium glycyrrhizinate, mint flavor (contains E220).
