What is Lotio decapans Widmer and when is it used?

Lotio decapans Widmer is a dandruff remover Solution for the scalp for external use. It is used for all severely scaly skin diseases of the hairy head, where scaly ointments and viscous oils are difficult to use. If prescribed by the doctor, the drug can also be used to prepare for specific treatment for skin diseases on the hairy head that are associated with severe crusting and scaling.

When must Lotio decapans Widmer not be used?

Lotio decapans Widmer must not be used on:

• Known hypersensitivity to one of the active ingredients or one of the excipients according to the composition.Children under the age of 12.

When do you have to be careful when using Lotio decapans Widmer?

Avoid applying other medicines or cosmetics to be used externally on the lotio , unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor. em>decapans widmer treated scalp. Due to the properties of Lotio decapans Widmer, the absorption of other active ingredients through the scalp can be increased and possibly cause side effects. Lotio decapans Widmer can cause irritation of the mucous membranes, lips and eyes. Contact with eyes, lips and mucous membranes must be strictly avoided. In case of accidental contact, immediately flush affected area(s) with plenty of water. Lotio decapans Widmer must not be used on damaged skin and wounds. This medicinal product contains 100 mg/g alcohol (ethanol 96%). It can cause a burning sensation on damaged skin. The use of Lotio decapans Widmer increases the photosensitivity of the treated scalp. As a precaution, the treated skin areas should therefore be protected as well as possible from natural or artificial sunlight or UV radiation during the treatment. Lotio decapans Widmer should not be used on large areas and over a longer period of time in patients with previously damaged liver or kidneys. When used on the scalp, discoloration can occur in blond, white or gray hair if the hair is not free of alkalis (soap) (see also the section «What side effects can Lotio decapans Widmer have?»). Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you

Can Lotio decapans Widmer be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

There are insufficient data on the use of Lotio decapans Widmer in pregnant or breastfeeding women. If you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant or are breastfeeding, you should only use Lotio decapans Widmer after consulting your doctor. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist for advice.

How do you use Lotio decapans Widmer?

The solution is for external use only.

Adults

Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, apply Lotio decapans Widmer 2-3 times a week to the to be treated. After application, rub the solution in well and leave the medicine on for a few hours or overnight. Then wash your hair with a suitable shampoo. Repeat the treatment as soon as thick scale deposits form again. As the treatment progresses, one application per week is sufficient. Wash your hands thoroughly after each application. Lotio decapans Widmer should not be used in children under 12 years of age. Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Lotio decapans Widmer have?

Lotio Decapans Widmer can cause irritation, such as burning and redness, and/or allergies as side effects (allergic contact dermatitis). Blonde, white or gray hair may become discolored if the hair is not completely soap free. The treated scalp may become more sensitive to light. When resorcinol-containing preparations are applied to larger areas of skin and after prolonged use, the inhibition of thyroid function by resorcinol can lead to a doughy swelling of the skin tissue, which can occur locally or affect the whole body (myxedema). This disorder resolves when treatment is stopped. The resorcinol contained in Lotio decapans Widmer can also cause inflammation of the conjunctiva or cornea in the eye. If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. This also applies in particular to side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.
