What is Benadon and when is it used?
Benadon is used to supplement insufficient vitamin B6 intake and to prevent and treat vitamin B6 deficiency diseases, which can have the following causes:
? frequent vomiting;
? insufficient absorption in the intestine as a result of chronic diarrhea or disruption of the passage of food components into the blood (absorption disorders);
? treatment with drugs that reduce the effect of vitamin B6 weaken. These are certain antihypertensives, certain antibiotics including tuberculosis drugs, contraceptives (?the pill?) and penicillamine.
Benadon is also used to support radiation treatment;
A vitamin B6 deficiency can manifest itself as follows: Inflammation of the skin, accompanied by excessive sebum production and inflammation of the tongue and oral mucosa. In severe cases, nerve inflammation, anemia and brain cramps can also be observed.
What should be considered?
Like all vitamins, vitamin B6 cannot be produced by the body itself, but must be ingested with food. It is particularly abundant in meat and green vegetables.Note for diabetics: the tablets do not contain any usable carbohydrates

When should you be careful when taking Benadon?
Doses of vitamin B6 that are many times higher than the daily requirement of 2 mg can impair the effectiveness of certain medicines used to treat Parkinson's disease.If you have Parkinson's disease, you must not take Benadon or any other high-dose Taking vitamin B6 supplements without first asking your doctor for advice.In larger doses, vitamin B6 neutralizes the effect of levodopa and weakens the effect of phenytoin phenobarbital and altretamine. In high doses, vitamin B6 can interfere with the release of prolactin.If vitamin B6 and amiodarone are taken at the same time, photosensitivity is increased. The simultaneous administration of pyridoxine antagonists (e.g. medicines against tuberculosis) increases the need for pyridox hydrochloride (vitamin B6).Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you? suffer from other diseases,? have allergies or? are taking other medicines (even those you have bought yourself!).The treatment of children between the ages of 12 and 15 is not recommended because there is insufficient data on efficacy and safety.
Can Benadon be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Pregnancy:Because of the high vitamin B6 content, the preparation Benadon 300 mg must not be used during pregnancy. Women of childbearing age must take appropriate precautions for reliable contraception.
Breastfeeding:
Benadon 300 mg must not be used while breastfeeding.
How do you use Benadon?
Adults and adolescents from the age of 15:
The general rule is that the dosage is to be determined individually by the doctor treating you.
The amount to be taken daily ( daily dose) as well as the duration of the treatment sI according to the extent of the imminent or already existing vitamin B6 deficiency. Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, you should take ½-1 Benadon tablet daily until the vitamin B6 deficiency symptoms are eliminated or improved.
Children:
Children under the age of 12 must not take Benadon 300 mg.
The treatment is not recommended for adolescents between the ages of 12 and 15, as there is insufficient data on its effectiveness and safety.

Skin changes such as sensitivity to light, a rash, itching, hives, or blistering of the skin may occur.Signs of overdose include nausea, headache, nerve damage, convulsions, drowsiness, and changes in blood counts. These symptoms usually subside when therapy with vitamin B6 is stopped.
While taking Benadon, false results can occur in urine tests for so-called bile pigments (urobilinogen).
The dosage guidelines must therefore be strictly observed and may only be changed if prescribed by a doctor.
