Calobalin Sandoz is used for weight loss in adults aged 18 and over in conjunction with a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet. Calobalin Sandoz is only intended for overweight people who have a body mass index (BMI) of 28 or more.The BMI (= body weight in kg divided by height in m squared [kg/m²]) is used to determine whether you have a weight in the healthy range or whether you are too heavy for your height. What is Calobalin Sandoz?

The active component in Calobalin Sandoz, called orlistat, works in your gastrointestinal tract. Calobalin Sandoz affects the digestion of dietary fats, but does not suppress appetite. Dietary fats are chemical compounds that must be broken down by enzymes called lipases before they can be absorbed by the body. If Calobalin Sandoz is taken with a meal, it inhibits the activity of these enzymes. As a result, approximately 25% of dietary fats pass through the gastrointestinal tract undigested and are excreted. The body can neither store these excess calories in fatty tissue nor use them to generate energy. This promotes weight loss.Calobalin Sandoz should be used in conjunction with a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet and a multivitamin supplement.Calobalin Sandoz should be considered part of a weight-loss program. How much weight you will lose will depend on how strictly you follow the reduced-fat diet and regular intake of Calobalin Sandoz.
