Description - Kamilex liq bottle 500 ml
Kamillex, liquid is a standardized alcoholic extract from chamomile blossoms with the addition of the chamomile component bisabolol. Kamillex, liquid is an anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, itching-relieving, slightly disinfectant with calming and odor-eliminating properties. Kamillex, liquid can therefore be used:
For mouth rinsing and gargling:
Inflammation of the oral cavity, pharynx, gums, bad breath.
For inhalation and facial steam bath:
For colds, inflammation of the paranasal sinuses.
For compresses, washes, partial and full baths:
For itching, skin inflammation, for the follow-up treatment of open abscesses, boils, infected wounds, first-degree burns. As a supporting local measure for impure skin, pustules, blackheads (acne vulgaris).
As a sitz bath:
To relieve the symptoms of haemorrhoids, itching from eczema (including anal eczema) or inflammation in the area of ??the anus.
As a children's bath:
For inflammatory skin symptoms.
For douching:
For inflammatory diseases of the female genital organs.
For brushing (undiluted):
Inflammation of the oral mucosa, gums, periodontal disease, bleeding gums.

What is Kamillex, liquid and when is it used?
Kamillex, liquid is a standardized alcoholic extract from chamomile blossoms with the addition of the chamomile ingredient bisabolol. Kamillex, liquid is an anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, itching-relieving, slightly disinfectant with calming and odor-eliminating properties. Kamillex, liquid can therefore be used:
For mouth rinsing and gargling:
For inflammation of the oral cavity, pharynx, gums, bad breath.
For inhalation and facial steam bath:

What should be considered?
Kamillex, liquid contains 53 percent alcohol by volume, i. 422 mg/ml alcohol: A single dose for inhalation or mouthwash (5 ml) corresponds to approx. 2.11 g ethanol, a single dose for a facial steam bath (15 ml) corresponds to approx. 6.33 g ethanol. The amount in 5 ml of this medicine is equivalent to less than 55 ml beer or 22 ml wine. Because of the alcohol content, it is important to use the correct dilution. Kamillex, liquid is intended for external use and for inhalation, but must not be ingested. Accidental swallowing must be prevented.
When should Kamilex, liquid not be used?
Kamillex, liquid should not be used if there is a known hypersensitivity to chamomile or composite plants. Do not ingest. Moreover, Kamilex, liquid may not be used for enemas (intestinal irrigation). It must not be used in the area around the eyes. Kamillex, liquid should not be used for mouth rinsing or gargling in children under 12 years of age. For the other applications, Kamillex, liquid may only be used in children under 12 years of age if prescribed by a doctor.
When is caution required when using Kamilex, liquid?
Since Kamilex, liquid contains alcohol, it is important to ensure the correct dilution in general - and especially with children , accidental swallowing must be prevented. The amount of alcohol in this medicine is unlikely to affect adults and adolescents, or be noticeable in children, when used as directed. In young children, effects may be possible, e.g. drowsiness. The amount of alcohol in this medicine may alter the effects of other medicines. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are using other medicines. If you are dependent on alcohol, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine. Especially if you suffer from asthma, you may only use Kamilex liquid for inhalation after consulting your doctor. If a local deterioration occurs or if there is no healing within 2-3 weeks, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. If the general condition deteriorates (e.g. fever), a doctor must be consulted immediately! The inhalative application should only be carried out by means of water vapor inhalation. Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you
- suffer from other illnesses,have allergies ortake other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally!
Can Kamillex, liquid be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine. Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child when used as intended. However, systematic scientific investigations have never been carried out. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist for advice.
How do you use Kamilex, liquid?Adults and children over 12 yearsFor inhalation:
1 teaspoon (5 ml) in 1 l of hot (not boiling!) water one to three times a day. Inhale vapors vigorously. Do not let children inhale unsupervised.
For facial steam baths:
1 tablespoon (15 ml) in 1 l of hot (not boiling!) water once or twice a day.
For mouthwashes and gargling:
1 teaspoon (5 ml) in a glass of warm water once or several times a day. The solution should not be swallowed.
For brushing and dabbing:
Apply undiluted with a brush or cotton swab one to three times a day. Don't swallow.
For poultices, washes and rinses:
1 tablespoon (15 ml) in 1 l of water once or several times a day.
For partial and children's baths:
1 tablespoon (15 ml) in 1 l of water once or several times a day.
For sitz baths:
2 tablespoons (30 ml) in 30 l water once or several times a day.
For full baths:
5 tablespoons (75 ml) in 75 l water once a day.
Children from 6 to 12 years
Use only on medical prescription
For inhalation:
1 teaspoon (5 ml) in 1 l of hot (not boiling!) water one to three times a day. Do not let children inhale unsupervised!
Children from 2 to 6 years
Application only on medical prescriptionFor baths: 1 tablespoon (15 ml) in 10 l of water once a day. Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What side effects can Kamillex, liquid have?Rarely (affects 1 to 10 users in 10,000)
Rarely, contact allergies are observed (skin irritation). In patients with known sensitization to plants from the composite family (daisy family), e.g. mugwort, yarrow, chrysanthemum, marguerite, a hypersensitivity reaction to chamomile can also occur in individual cases due to a cross-reaction. There have been reports of skin reactions and, particularly when used improperly, of shortness of breath, swelling of the face and drop in blood pressure. In this case, the preparation should be discontinued and a doctor consulted if necessary.
Very rare (affects less than 1 in 10,000 users)
Very rare individual cases of Stevens-Johnson syndrome have been described in which there is an association with the use of chamomile extracts is not excluded. Stevens-Johnson syndrome is a life-threatening painful skin rash that can also affect the mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, genitals and eyes and, like scalds, leads to blisters and skin peeling all over the body. If you notice such signs, you should consult a doctor immediately. If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. This also applies in particular to side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.
