Description - Loperamide Streuli Kaps 2 mg 20 pcs

What is Loperamide Streuli and when is it used?

Loperamide Streuli is a highly effective remedy for sudden (acute) and prolonged (chronic) diarrhea of ??various causes. If prescribed by a doctor, Loperamid Streuli can also be used for diarrhea that can occur after surgery to shorten the small intestine. It inhibits intestinal movement through a direct effect on the intestinal muscles, making the stool thicker and reducing the number of bowel movements.

The capsules can take effect after about two hours.

When must Loperamide Streuli not be taken/used?

Children under the age of 24 months should be excluded from treatment with Loperamide Streuli. Loperamid Streuli capsules should not be given to children under the age of 6.Loperamid Streuli must not be used:

  • if you are allergic to loperamide or one of the excipients.if you suffer from severe liver diseases.if you suffer from severe diarrhea accompanied by high fever and/or mucous-bloody stools.if you suffer from sudden severe inflammation of the colon (e.g. ulcerative colitis).if you suffer from bacterial inflammation of the bowel caused by pathogens penetrating the intestinal wall.if you suffer from diarrhea which occurs during or after taking antibiotics.if you suffer from conditions where obstruction of the bowel movements is to be avoided, e.g. constipation, intestinal blockage and abdominal distension.

When should you be careful when taking / using Loperamide Streuli?

Although Loperamide Streuli stops the diarrhea, Loperamide Streuli does not treat the cause. If possible, the cause of the diarrhea should be treated.Loperamide Streuli usually stops a sudden attack of diarrhea within 48 hours. If there is no improvement within 48 hours, you should stop taking Loperamide Streuli and see your doctor.If you have AIDS and are taking Loperamide Streuli to treat diarrhea, you must stop taking Loperamide Streuli immediately at the first sign of a distended or swollen abdomen and inform your doctor.Loperamide hydrochloride, the active ingredient in Loperamide Streuli, has been misused and misused reported. How do you use Loperamide Streuli?

You lose a lot of liquid during the diarrhea. Young people and adultsSudden onset Diarrhea

Starting dose: 2 capsules.Following dose after each additional liquid stool: 1 capsule.Maximum daily dose: 8 capsules.

Chronic diarrhea

As prescribed by the doctor.Children aged 6-12

Sudden onset of diarrhea fall

Initial dose: 1 capsule.Following dose after each additional liquid stool: 1 capsule.Maximum daily dose: 3 capsules per 20 kg body weight.For children, the maximum daily dose, regardless of body weight, must never be more than the maximum daily dose for adolescents and adults (8 capsules).

Chronic diarrhoea

As soon as the stool has returned to normal (firm and formed) or if no stool has been passed for more than 12 hours, treatment with Loperamid Streuli should be stopped.

Strictly follow the dosage specified in the package leaflet or prescribed by the doctor, especially for children. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose mentioned above.

If you take more Loperamide Streuli than you should

See a doctor as soon as possible, especially if you experience the following symptoms: muscle stiffness, lack of coordination, drowsiness, constricted pupils, increased muscle tone, weak breathing, difficulty urinating, increased heart rate, irregular heartbeat or intestinal blockage. p>Children may be more sensitive to CNS effects than adults.Follow the dosage provided in the package insert or as prescribed by your doctor. What side effects can Loperamide Streuli have?

The following side effects can occur when taking Loperamide Streuli:

Common (affects 1 to 10 out of 100 users)

Headache, dizziness, constipation, nausea, flatulence.

Uncommon (affects 1 to 10 users in 1000)

Abdominal or upper abdominal pain, abdominal discomfort, dry mouth, vomiting, indigestion, skin rash.Side effects which have been observed in post-marketing experience and the frequency of which cannot be determined: Feeling of distension in the stomach, hypersensitivity reactions, difficulty concentrating, limitations in consciousness, increasedincreased muscle tone, loss of consciousness, drowsiness, muscle stiffness, constricted pupils, bowel obstruction or dilatation, severe skin reaction, difficulty urinating, itching, tiredness.

Stop using Loperamide Streuli and tell your doctor immediately if you notice or suspect any of the following symptoms. If this happens you may need urgent treatment:

  • sudden swelling of the face, lips or throat, shortness of breath, hives (also known as hives or urticaria), severe irritation, redness or blistering of the skin. These symptoms may be signs of hypersensitivity or an allergic reaction.extreme tiredness, incoordination, loss of consciousness.severe abdominal pain, abdominal swelling or fever, which could indicate a blockage or dilation of the bowel.

Some adverse events that have been reported with loperamide are commonly symptoms of the underlying diarrhea (abdominal pain, malaise, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, tiredness, drowsiness, dizziness, constipation and flatulence). These symptoms are often difficult to distinguish from adverse events.If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist (or druggist). This also applies in particular to side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.
