What is Octeniderm colorless and when is it used?

Octeniderm® colorless is an alcoholic and colorless skin disinfectant.

Octeniderm® colorless is effective against bacteria, skin fungi and individual viruses.

Octeniderm® colorless is used by medical professionals to disinfect the skin before surgical and diagnostic procedures, injections, blood and Li quo removals, punctures, excisions, cannulations, biopsies as well as for surgical and hygienic hand disinfection.

Octeniderm® colorless can be used on medical prescription to disinfect wounds and sewn goods.

When should Octeniderm® colorless not be used?

Octeniderm® colorless should not be used in premature babies and newborns due to the high alcohol content, as the still immature Skin Damage to the skin and burns can occur.Do not use if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients contained in Octeniderm® colorless.Do not use on mucous membranes or on the eyes. Do not insert into the ear canal.

When is care required when using Octeniderm colorless?

Octeniderm® colorless is intended for external use only. Don't ingest. Do not use for long periods.Octeniderm® colorless should not be used on the same or adjacent areas of skin that have been treated with PVP-iodine-based disinfectants, as brown to purple staining may occur.Avoid getting Octeniderm® colorless in the eyes. In the event of accidental contact, immediately flush the eye from the inside out with plenty of water for several minutes with the eyelid wide open.Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you- suffer from other diseases- have allergies or- take other medicines (including those you bought yourself) or use them externally!

May Octeniderm colorless be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

There is no clinical data available on use in pregnant women.Octeniderm® colorless should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless specifically prescribed by a doctor.

How do you use Octeniderm colorless?

Octeniderm® colorless until it is completely wetted on the skin, wound or area to be disinfected Apply or spray on seam areas. Allow to act for 1 minute to disinfect wounds or to treat seams. Do not apply a bandage until the solution has dried completely.

For hygienic hand disinfection, apply approx. 3 ml of Octeniderm® colorless to the hands and rub in for 30 seconds.

The following exposure times apply to further applications:

?Injections, blood samples at least 15 seconds;

?Punctures, wound and seam care, pre- and post-operatively 1 minute;?HBV 2 min.

?Surgical hand disinfection: apply 3 - 6 times 3 ml Octeniderm® colorless 5 min. to dry hands and forearms and rub in.

The use and safety in children and adolescents has not yet been tested.

Observe the dosage specified in the package leaflet or prescribed by the doctor. If you believe that the medicinal product is too weak or too strong, speak to your doctor, pharmacist or drugstore, pharmacist.

What side effects can OCTENiderm have colorless? ennen and itching come. Allergic reactions (e.g. contact eczema) can also occur in rare cases.

If you accidentally swallow large amounts of Octeniderm® colorless, irritation of the gastrointestinal mucosa may occur.

If you notice any side effects that are not described here, you should consult your doctor, pharmacist orInform druggists or your doctor.

What else needs to be considered?

Flammable - do not bring into contact with open flames or switched on electrical heat sources!Keep out of the reach of children! Don't ingest. Store at room temperature (15 - 25 °C).

The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked "Use by" on the container.

Be careful when using electrical devices, e.g. thermal cautery, after using Octeniderm® colourless. Do not use electrical devices and thermal cautery until the disinfected skin areas have dried. Remove electrical devices and other sources of ignition immediately if you accidentally spill Octeniderm® colorless.Your doctor, pharmacist or druggist can provide you with further information.
