What is Pelsano med ointment and when is it used?
Pelsano med ointment contains dexpanthenol and sunflower oil.
Dexpanthenol is converted into the vitamin pantothenic acid in the skin cells. Pantothenic acid is involved in both building and repairing the skin.
Pelsano med ointment is used to care for dry, sensitive or irritated skin.
In baby care: prevention and treatment of soreness, skin redness, non-infected diaper infections or dry skin.
When breastfeeding: prevention and treatment of non-infected, sore or inflamed nipples.
General my: Treatment of skin irritations, sunburn or small, non-infected wounds, care for dry skin.
After consulting your doctor, pharmacist or druggist, Pelsano med ointment can also be used to support the treatment of skin diseases (e.g. cradle cap).
When should Pelsano med ointment not be used?
Should you use one of the ointments contained in the ointment? If you are allergic to the active ingredient or excipient (see composition), you must not use it.

Can Pelsano med ointment be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
Pelsano med ointment can be used during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. The ointment adhering to the nipple must be carefully removed before the infant is attached.
How do you use Pelsano med ointment?
In infant care: Apply Pelsano med ointment to the inflamed or affected areas of skin 1-4 times a day. To prevent this, spread Pelsano med ointment over the baby's buttocks and genitals after you have drained them thoroughly with water.When breastfeeding: After each application, apply Pelsano med ointment to a piece of gauze and cover the nipples with it.General: If you have dry skin, you can use Pelsano med ointment several times a day as needed. To treat minor wounds or sunburn, apply Pelsano med ointment to the affected areas of skin 1-4 times a day.
Observe the dosage specified in the package insert or prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What side effects can Pelsano med ointment have?
No side effects have been observed for Pelsano med ointment when used as intended. If you notice any unusual skin reactions, tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What does Pelsano med ointment contain?

250 ??mg sunflower oil (Helianthi oleum), 50 mg dexpanthenol; Excipients: propylene glycol, preservatives: phenoxyethanol, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (E 216) and other excipients.
