Pelsano med ointment contains dexpanthenol and sunflower oil. Dexpanthenol is converted into the vitamin pantothenic acid in the skin cells. Pantothenic acid is involved in both building and repairing the skin. Pelsano med ointment is used to care for dry, sensitive or irritated skin. In infant care: prevention and treatment of soreness, skin rashes, uninfected diaper rashes or dry skin. When breastfeeding: Prevention and treatment of uninfected, sore or inflamed nipples. General: Treatment of skin irritations, sunburn or small uninfected wounds, care of dry skin. After consulting your doctor, pharmacist or druggist, Pelsano med ointment can also be used to support the treatment of skin diseases (e.g. cradle cap).

What is Pelsano med ointment and when is it used?

When should Pelsano med ointment not be used?
If you are allergic to an active ingredient or auxiliary substance contained in the ointment (see composition), you must not use it .

If Pelsano med ointment is used as intended, no special precautionary measures are necessary. Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you or your baby

Can Pelsano med ointment be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
Pelsano med ointment can be used during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Before attaching the infant, the ointment adhering to the nipple must be carefully removed.
How do you use Pelsano med ointment?
In infant care: Apply Pelsano med ointment to the inflamed or affected areas of skin 1-4 times a day . As a preventative measure, spread Pelsano med ointment over the buttocks and genital regions of the baby after each drying session after you have thoroughly cleaned these parts of the body with water. When breastfeeding: Apply Pelsano med ointment to a piece of gauze after each breastfeeding and cover the nipples with it. General: If you have dry skin, you can use Pelsano med ointment several times a day as needed. To treat minor wounds or sunburn, apply Pelsano med ointment to the affected areas of skin 1-4 times a day. Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What side effects can Pelsano med ointment have?
Up to now, no side effects have been observed for Pelsano med ointment when used as intended. If you notice any unusual skin reactions, inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What else needs to be considered?
Always keep the tube tightly closed at room temperature (15-25 °C) and out of the reach of children. Your doctor, pharmacist or druggist can provide you with further information. The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked «EXP» on the container.
What does Pelsano med ointment contain?
1 g of ointment contains the following active ingredients: 250 ??mg sunflower oil (Helianthi Oleum), 50 mg dexpanthenol; Excipients: propylene glycol, preservatives: phenoxyethanol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216) and other excipients.
