Description - Carbovit Susp 15 g/100ml oral bottle 100 ml
What is Carbovit and when is it used?
A bottle of Carbovit® contains 15 g of activated charcoal, which binds toxins and thus prevents absorption in the body. Carbovit® is used in the event of acute oral poisoning or drug overdoses.
When should Carbovit not be taken?
Carbovit® should not be used in the event of poisoning with irritating substances such as strong acids or alkalis. In the case of drowsiness (impaired consciousness), there is a risk that the medicine will get into the respiratory tract (aspiration).
When is caution required when taking Carbovit?
In the event of acute poisoning or an overdose of medicines, first contact a doctor or Tox Info Suisse (emergency number 145).Activated charcoal can reduce the effect of medicines taken at the same time. Therefore, these medications should only be used 2 hours after taking Carbovit®.
Can Carbovit be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
According to the current state of knowledge, Carbovit® can be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding without endangering the child if used correctly.
How do you use Carbovit?
Unless otherwise prescribed, the following dosages apply in the event of acute poisoning:For children under the age of 1 year, the instructions of the doctor or Tox Info Suisse must be followed.
Children from 1 to 4 years:
Take 1 bottle of Carbovit®.
Children from 4 to 10 years:
First dose: Take 2 bottles of Carbovit®. 1 bottle is then administered every 2 - 4 hours.
Children from the age of 10, adolescents and adults:
First dose: Take 4 bottles of Carbovit® quickly. Then 2 bottles of Carbovit® are administered every 2 - 4 hours.
What side effects can Carbovit have?
The following side effects can occur when taking Carbovit®:- vomiting- temporary constipation and feeling of fullness- blackening of the stoolIf you notice any other side effects, you should inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
Store Carbovit® at room temperature (15 - 25 °C) and out of the reach of children. The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked «EXP» on the container.

Active ingredient: activated charcoal (carbo activatus) 150 mg/ml
Excipients: sorbitol 120 mg/ml, E 216, E 218, Carmellose sodium, magnesium aluminum silicate, water.
