AMZVWhat is Haas Hamamelis Ointment and when is it used?
Haas Hamamelis Ointment contains Aqua Hamamelidis: a steam distillate of fresh flowering Hamamelis branches (Hamamelis virginica) with aqueous alcohol. Hamamelis virginica is the Latin name for the witch hazel shrub (witch hazel) of Virginia, whose leaves and branch bark were used medicinally by the Native Americans. Hamamelis Ointment Haas can be used for varicose veins, external haemorrhoids, cracks, dry and sore nasal mucous membranes, soreness in small children and adults (e.g. wolves), skin abrasions, small burns, sun and glacier burns, chilblains.
What should be considered?
If skin wounds do not heal, if the symptoms of haemorrhoids do not subside or if heavy bleeding occurs, you should consult a doctor.
When should Hamamelis Salve Haas not be used or only with caution?
Haamelis Salve Haas should not be used if there is a known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients (wool fat, preservatives). Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you
- suffer from other diseases,have allergies ortake other medicines (including those you bought yourself) or use them externally!
Can Hamamelis Ointment Haas be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child if used as directed. Systematic scientific investigations were never carried out. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist for advice.
How do you use Hamamelis Ointment Haas?
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, apply the ointment to the affected areas 2-3 times a day. Apply ointment bandages to cracks and other skin wounds; Renew ointment dressings 2-3 times a day. Ointment must not be taken! Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What side effects can Hamamelis Ointment Haas have?
The following side effects can occur when using Hamamelis Ointment Haas: Painful, itchy and inflammatory skin changes. In this case, the treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted. If you notice side effects that are not described here, you should inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What else needs to be taken into account?
The medicinal product must only be used up to the date stated on the container and should be stored at room temperature (15-25 °C) and for be kept out of reach of children. Remaining ointment should be disposed of like household fats or destroyed after the end of treatment or when it has expired. It can also be given to your pharmacy or drugstore for disposal. Your doctor, pharmacist or druggist can provide you with further information.
What does Hamamelis Ointment Haas contain?
1 g ointment contains: 150 mg Hamamelis steam distillate (Aqua hamamelidis), wool fat alcohols (Alcoholes adipis lanae), wool fat (Adeps lanae), preservatives E 217 and E 219 (p-hydroxybenzoic acid methyl and propyl ester sodium compound) , ointment base.
