Description - Gencydo Nasal Spray 1% 20ml
Swissmedic-approved patient information
Gencydo® 1% nasal spray
Anthroposophic medicinal product
AMZV
When is Gencydo 1% used?
According to anthroposophical knowledge of man and nature, Gencydo 1% can used to treat allergic nasal discomfort such as hay fever. Gencydo 1% is a drug with herbal active ingredients for local application that has a constricting effect on the nasal mucosa. The secretion decreases and the affected mucous membranes swell. Gencydo 1% is well tolerated and does not affect the function of the ciliated epithelium. A special valve and filter system prevents microbial contamination of the bottle contents through nasal secretions or air flowing in, thereby guaranteeing hygienic use. Gencydo 1% does not contain any preservatives.
What should be considered?
If your doctor has prescribed other medicines for you, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether Gencydo 1% may be used at the same time.
When should Gencydo 1% not be used or only with caution?
Gencydo 1% should not be used if there is a known hypersensitivity to citrus fruits. Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you
- suffer from other diseases,
- have allergies or
- take other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally.
How do you use Gencydo 1%?
Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, spray Gencydo 1% into each nostril until symptoms subside.
Dosage:
Adults: 3-5 times a day 1-2 sprays in each nostril. School children: 1 spray in each nostril 3-4 times a day.
Handling:
- Remove the protective cap.
- Hold the nasal spray vertically and press the spray head several times until a mist comes out (when using for the first time) [See Figure 1].
- Insert the nozzle vertically into one nostril and spray by pressing the nozzle down once. It's a good idea to inhale through your nose while keeping the other nostril closed [see Figure 2].
- Wipe the spray head after each use and replace the protective cap immediately. ol>
Do not pull the spray tip off the bottle. If the spray function is temporarily impaired (e.g. due to the nasal spray not being in a vertical position), wait 1-2 minutes until the pressure has equalized and operate the pump mechanism several times in a vertical position until the spray comes out again. Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If the desired improvement does not occur during the treatment of a small child/child, a doctor should be consulted with him or her. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What side effects can Gencydo 1% have?
In rare cases, burning of the nasal mucosa (hypersensitivity reaction) can occur. If you notice side effects that are not described here, you should inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What else should you be aware of?
If symptoms worsen or do not improve, tell your doctor. Do not use the preparation longer than 12 months after opening. For technical reasons, it is not possible to completely empty the bottle. However, the remaining residual volume has been taken into account in the filling quantity. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children. Store at room temperature (15-25°C) and away from moisture. The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked ?EXP? on the container. Your doctor, pharmacist or druggist can provide you with further information.
