What is Bepanthen MED nasal ointment and when is it used?

Bepanthen MED nasal ointment contains the active ingredient dexpanthenol, which penetrates the mucous membrane and supports the structure and regeneration of the nasal mucosa from the inside.

Bepanthen MED nasal ointment reduces irritation and inflammation, moisturizes the dry nasal mucosa, loosens hardened crusts and relieves the inflamed reddened skin around the nostrils.Bepanthen MED nasal ointment is used:for irritated nasal mucosa as a result of frequent cleaning of the nose (e.g. with a cold or constant nasal discharge) or for occupational irritation of the nasal mucosa; on the recommendation of the pharmacist or on medical prescription for inflamed, reddened, painful nostrils due to constant nasal flow and after nose surgery to support the healing process; with dry and heavily crusted nasal mucosa. Such incrustations can occur if you have treated a cold with decongestants for a long time, if you work or live in heated but insufficiently humidified rooms, if you stay in areas with low humidity, such as high mountains, steppes or deserts; if you have a tendency to nosebleeds due to dry nasal mucosa.

If you are hypersensitive to one or more of the ingredients, you should not use Bepanthen MED nasal ointment (see composition).

When should you be careful when taking/using Bepanthen MED nasal ointment?

Can Bepanthen MED nasal ointment be taken/used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

Bepanthen MED nasal ointment may be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

How do you use Bepanthen MED nasal ointment?Adults, adolescents and children

Insert the extended end of the tube into the nostril and squeeze out a short strand of Bepanthen MED nasal ointment. Distribute this on the nasal mucosa by pressing the nostrils and massaging lightly. Repeat this process up to three times a day.

For inflamed nostrils, apply Bepanthen MED nasal ointment with your finger.

Observe the dosage given in the package insert or prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Bepanthen MED nasal ointment have?

Use by after opening

This medicinal product must be used up within a maximum of 7 days after the tube is first openedare needed.
