What is Lifo-Scrub and when is it used?

Lifo-Scrub is a liquid soap that is used for disinfecting, hygienic hand washing. Lifo-Scrub is only used on medical prescription for antiseptic washing of the whole body before operations.

What should be considered?

Dirty hands should not be washed with soap before using Lifo-Scrub, as this may reduce the effectiveness of the drug.

When should Lifo-Scrub not be used?

Lifo-Scrub should not be used if there is a known or suspected hypersensitivity to an ingredient. Avoid contact with eyes and ears (especially if the eardrum is injured).

When is caution required when using Lifo-Scrub?

Patients who are hypersensitive to azo dyes, acetylsalicylic acid (e.g. Aspirin, Alcacyl) and rheumatism and painkillers (prostaglandin inhibitors) should not use Lifo-Scrub. Caution when using in newborns, especially premature babies. Lifo-Scrub can cause skin burns (chemical burns) in newborns. Avoid excess amounts and allow the solution not to pool in skin folds.

This medicine contains a fragrance containing Alpha-Methyl Ionone, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl (2-hydroxybenzoate), Cinnamaldehyde, 3-Phenylprop-2-en-1-ol, Citral, Citronellol, Eugenol, Geraniol, 2-Benzylidenoctanal, Hydroxycitronellal, D-Limonene and Linalool, which allergic reactions.Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if yousuffer from other diseases,have allergies ortake other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally!

Can Lifo-Scrub be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

If you are pregnant or you should talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist before using Lifo-Scrub.

How do you use Lifo-Scrub?

Hygienic disinfecting hand washing: Wet hands with water and wash for at least 1 minute with approx. 5 ml Lifo-Scrub, rinse thoroughly and dry.Antiseptic, disinfecting whole Body washing: If your doctor has prescribed a disinfecting full body wash before a planned operation, you can do this with Lifo-Scrub at home or on the ward as follows:Lifo-Scrub is used like a washing lotion. When showering, make sure that Lifo-Scrub is only rinsed off after a contact time of at least 2 minutes.

If possible, wash yourself twice with Lifo-Scrub on the day before the operation: First the face and then the whole body is washed with Lifo-Scrub from top to bottom, whereby areas such as the nose, armpits, pubic area and navel should be cleaned particularly thoroughly. After leaving it on for at least 2 minutes, rinse off and repeat the application with Lifo-Scrub, this time starting with the hair. It is then rinsed off thoroughly and dried with a fresh cloth.

Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Lifo-Scrub have?

Lifo-Scrub can trigger hypersensitivity reactions of the skin (skin dryness, redness) and respiratory organs, especially in patients with asthma, nettle rash (chronic nettle rash) or with Hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid and other rheumatism and painkillers. There may be increased sunlight sensitivity occur. Skin burns (chemical burns) in newborns if used improperly (see the section «When should you be careful when using Lifo-Scrub?»).If you notice any side effects, contact your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. This also applies in particular to side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.

1 ml solution contains:Active ingredientsChlorhexidine digluconate 40 mg.ExcipientsLauramine oxide, macrogol-60-cetostearylaethermyristylglycol, isopropyl alcohol, fragrance (contains alpha-methyl ionone, benzyl alcohol, benz yl benzoate, benzyl (2-hydroxybenzoate), , 3-phenylprop-2-en-1-ol, citral, citronellol, eugenol, geraniol, 2-benzylideneoctanal, hydroxycitronellal, D-limonene, linalool), Ponceau 4R (E 124), purified water, sodium hydroxide, gluconolactone (E 575).
