What is Sweden Mixture «H» and when is it used?

Sweden Mixture «H» is a plant-based laxative. The natural active ingredients (anthraquinones) stimulate intestinal activity.

This remedy can be used for short periods of time in the event of occasional constipation.

What should you bear in mind?

If you suffer from constipation, you should eat high-fiber food (vegetables, fruit, wholemeal bread) and drink plenty of fluids regularly and pay attention to physical activity (sport)!

When should Sweden Mixture «H» not be used or only with caution? h3>

The preparation must not be taken if the gastrointestinal tract is ill.

Not suitable for diabetics.

Not suitable for young people, children, pregnant women and breastfeeding women.

The preparation may only be taken occasionally and for no longer than 1 to 2 weeks. Long-term treatments should be under medical supervision.Chronic use/abuse or use of higher than recommended doses can cause diarrhea with dehydration and salt imbalance (especially potassium loss). Particular caution is therefore required in patients who are simultaneously taking certain water-propelling drugs (diuretics), drugs containing liquorice root, corticosteroids, certain antihistamines (such as terfenadine), drugs for heart muscle weakness (cardiac glycosides such as digoxin) and certain drugs for cardiac arrhythmia (antirrhythmics).This drug contains 15% alcohol by volume. If the recommended dosage is observed, up to 1.2 g of alcohol is consumed with each intake. There is a health risk for people with liver disease, epileptics, people with brain damage, pregnant and breastfeeding women, among others. The effect of other medicines can be intensified or impaired.Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally.

Can Sweden Mixture «H» be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Sweden Mixture «H» new formulation is for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding time not suitable.

How do you use Sweden Mixture «H»?

Adults: Take 5-10 ml in the evening, diluted with a little water, before going to bed with the enclosed measuring cup. (Onset of action after approx. 8 hours).Stick to the dosage given in the package insert or prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Schweden-Mixtur «H» have?

What else needs to be considered?

Occasionally occurring brown discolouration of the urine is of a harmless nature. The preparation contains alcohol. Motor vehicle steering may be impaired.

Store at room temperature (15-25°C).

The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked «EXP» on the container.
