When must Zeller Balsam ointment not be used?
Zeller Balsam, ointment must not be used if there is a known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients (see «What is in Zeller Balsam, Ointment?»). Zeller Balsam, ointment must not be swallowed. Avoid contact with eyes, nose and mouth.
When is caution required when using Zeller Balsam Ointment?
The doctor em> or the doctor should be consulted. For external use only. Consult a doctor immediately if your child has accidentally swallowed Zeller Balsam, ointment. Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you
- suffer from other diseases,have allergies ortake other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally!
Can Zeller Balm Ointment be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child if used as directed. However, systematic scientific investigations have never been carried out. Zeller Balsam, ointment should therefore not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless it is clearly necessary. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist for advice.
How do you use Zeller Balsam Ointment?
Adults: Apply the ointment in a thin layer to the injured or diseased area of ??skin up to three times a day. An ointment compress can also be prepared. The ointment is applied 2-3 mm thick to bandage material. The ointment compress produced in this way is placed on the wound or inflamed area of ??skin and held in place by a bandage or plaster. The bandage with the healing ointment should be renewed at least daily. Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. The use and safety of Zeller Balsam, ointment in children and adolescents has not yet been tested.
What side effects can Zeller Balsam Ointment have?
The following side effects can occur when using Zeller Balsam Ointment: Allergic skin reddening and itching. In this case, the application should be discontinued and a doctor consulted if necessary. If you notice side effects that are not described here, you should inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What else needs to be considered?
The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked «EXP» on the container. Store at room temperature (15-25°C) in the original packaging. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children. Your doctor, pharmacist or druggist can provide you with further information.
What does Zeller Balsam Ointment contain?
1 gram of ointment contains 50 mg Zellerbalsam (liquid extract (1:12) of benzoin, tolu balsam , myrrh, frankincense, poppy blossom, wormwood herb, yarrow herb, guaiac wood and tormentilla root), alcohol extractant 43% m/m, 23 mg Peru balsam, 10 mg camphor, 31 mg zinc oxide, 13 mg larch turpentine. This preparation also contains additives, including wool fat and the preservative octyl gallate (E 311).
