How do you use Nicorette Invisi depot patches?Use

Nicorette Invisi depot patches are intended for adults. For young people under the age of 18 and over 12, the drug should only be used if they are heavily dependent on nicotine and only after consultation with a doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

Nicorette Invisi depot plaster is worn for around 16 hours a day, as is usual for smokers: from the moment you get up in the morning until you go to bed in the evening. Treatment with a depot patch simulates the increase and decrease of nicotine throughout the day in a smoker, without nicotine intake during sleep. Use of the depot patch during the day prevents the potential nicotine-induced sleep disturbances seen with nicotine intake during sleep. Once treatment begins, smoking is prohibited.

  • Wash your hands before using the depot patch.Open the sachet along the dotted line with scissors and remove the depot patch.Remove the protective film.Apply the patch to clean, dry, intact skin on a hairless area of ??the torso, upper arm, hip or chest.Squeeze Apply patch firmly for 10 to 15 seconds.Press the edges of the patch firmly with your fingertips to ensure the patch is firmly in place. If the patch comes off, apply a new patch. The use of skin oils or talcum powder may affect the adhesion of the patch.Wash your hands carefully afterwards to avoid getting nicotine from your fingers in your eyes. Put a new patch on a different spot each day. This reduces the occurrence of skin reactions.
  • Dosage

Nicotine-dependent smokers who smoke a lot (more than 15 cigarettes per day) use a Nicorette Invisi depot patch at 25 mg/16 hours w&au dailyml; during 8 weeks. By then you should be in the habit of not smoking and it's time to gradually reduce your body's nicotine intake by using the smaller patches. Then use a Nicorette Invisi 15 mg/16 hrs prolonged-release patch per day for 2 weeks, followed by a Nicorette Invisi 10 mg/16 hrs prolonged-release patch per day for 2 weeks.Nicotine-dependent smokers with moderate to light cigarette consumption (less than 15 cigarettes per day) should start treatment with a Nicorette Invisi 15 mg/16 hrs prolonged-release patch per day for 8 weeks. The amount of nicotine is then reduced by using Nicorette Invisi depot plaster at 10 mg/16 hours per day for 4 weeks.

Use of the depot plaster for more than 3 months is generally not recommended.

Combination of the 15 mg or 10 mg depot plaster with Nicorette Kaudepot 2 mg or Nicorette 2 mg lozenges

In the case of a strong or uncontrollable craving to smoke or in people who have relapsed under therapy with a single nicotine medicinal product, it may be useful to use Nicorette 2 mg chewable depot or Nicorette 2 mg lozenge in addition to Nicorette Invisi depot patch. Nicorette chewing depot or 4 mg lozenges must not be combined with the depot plasters. The depot plaster is worn daily for 16 hours according to the package insert. The Nicorette Invisi depot patch at 15 mg/16 hours is used for the first 8 weeks, then the depot patch at 10 mg/16 hours for 4 weeks. The combination of depot patch and chewable depot or lozenges at 2 mg may be used for a maximum of 3 months.
