What is Echinamed Sore Throat Spray and when is it used?

The herbal medicine Echinamed Sore Throat Spray is made from fresh purple coneflower herb and roots and fresh sage leaves. Echinamed Sore Throat Spray is used for the short-term treatment of acute inflammation of the mouth and throat with sore throat, difficulty swallowing, scratching and burning in the throat and hoarseness.

What should you pay attention to?

If you have a fever or symptoms that last longer than 7 days, you should consult a doctor.

When should EchinaMed Sore Throat Spray not be used or used with caution?

Echinamed Sore Throat Spray must not be used if there is a known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients or plants from the daisy family (Asterraceae), such as chamomile, arnica, marigold (Calendula), yarrow (Achillea millefolium), daisies (Bellis perennis), coneflower (Echinacea).Products containing Echinacea, such as Echinamed Sore Throat Spray, should not be used for autoimmune Diseases, leukosis or multiple sclerosis are not used. Patients suffering from epilepsy should only use Echinamed Neck Pain Spray after consulting their doctor. The use of Echinamed Neck Pain Spray is not recommended for children under the age of 12, as there is insufficient experience with this group of patients. This medicinal product contains 47% by volume ethanol (alcohol), i.e. up to 163 mg per dose (= 2 sprays = 0.44 ml), equivalent to 3.7 ml beer, 1.5 ml wine per dose. There is a health risk for patients suffering from alcoholism. The alcohol content must be taken into account for pregnant or breastfeeding women, children and patients at increased risk due to liver disease or epilepsy. The contained sorbitol is a source of fructose. Talk to your doctor before you (or your child) take or receive this medicine if your doctor has told you that you (or your child) have an intolerance to some sugars or if you have been diagnosed with hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI) ? a rare inherited condition in which a person cannot break down fructose. Since the preparation contains sucrose, only take Echinamed Sore Throat Spray after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from a sugar intolerance.Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you? suffer from other diseases,?have allergies or?other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) are taking (or use externally)!

Can Echinamed Sore Throat Spray be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

There are no clinical data on use in pregnant or breastfeeding women and no adequate animal studies. The potential risk for humans is unknown. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not use Echinamed Sore Throat Spray unless specifically prescribed. Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child when used as intended. However, systematic scientific studies have never been carried out.

How do you use Echinamed Sore Throat Spray?

Adults and adolescents from the age of 12: 2 sprays into the mouth or throat 6-10 times a day.

Observe the dosage specified in the package leaflet or prescribed by the doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.The use of Echinamed Sore Throat Spray is not recommended for children under the age of 12, as there is insufficient experience with this group of patients.

What side effects can Echinamed Sore Throat Spray have?

The following side effects can occur when taking Echinamed Sore Throat Spray: In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions (such as skin rashes and very rarely asthma or circulatory reactions) have been observed with Echinacea preparations. In this case, the treatment should be stopped immediately and a doctor consulted. If you notice any side effects that are not described here, you should inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

Echinamed Sore Throat Spray may only be used up to the date marked "EXP" on the container. What does Echinamed Sore Throat Spray contain?

1 ml solution contains:Active ingredients72.7 mg thick extract of 863 mg tincture of fresh purple coneflower herb (Echinacea purpurea L. Moench, herba), drug-extractant ratio 1:12, extractant ethanol 65% V/V and 46 mg tinc ture from fresh coneflower roots (Echinacea purpurea L. Moench, radix), drug-extractant ratio 1:11, extractant ethanol 65% v/v, 430 mg tincture of fresh sage leaves* (Salvia officinalis L., folium), drug-extractant ratio 1:17, extractant ethanol 68% v/v Substances

372 mg ethanol, 293 mg sorbitol, soy lecithin, 3.3 mg sucrose, peppermint oil.

Echinamed Sore Throat Spray contains max. 47% alcohol by volume. 1 spray = 0.22 ml.

Put the head of the enclosed spray tube (as shown in the illustration) onto the bottle with slight pressure.Hold the spray tube in your mouth. Apply the recommended dosage to the painful area in the throat by pressing down the spray head. Hold the bottle as vertically as possible.After use, turn the spray tube down by 90°. Note: If the Echinamed Echinamed Sore Throat Spray is not used for a long time, the end of the spray tube should be rinsed well with lukewarm water.
