Description - Nasic nasal spray bottle 10 ml

What is Nasic and when is it used?

Nasic is a nasal spray with a spray device and contains two active ingredients: Xylometazoline has vasoconstrictive properties and thereby reduces swelling of the mucous membranes. Dexpanthenol is a derivative of the vitamin pantothenic acid, which is characterized by its properties that promote wound healing and protect the mucous membranes.

Nasic is used to reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa in the event of a cold.

Upon prescription from the doctor

Upon medical prescription, Nasic can also be used in the case of attacks of runny nose (nasal discomfort vas omotorica) and for the treatment of nasal breathing difficulties after surgical interventions on the nose.Nasic is intended for adults and children from the age of 6 years.

When must Nasic not be used?

You must not use this medicine if:-hypersensitivity to one of the components of Nasic,-dry inflammation of the nasal mucosa with crusting (nasal discomfort sicca),- in angle-closure glaucoma (glaucoma),infants and small children under the age of 6.

When is caution required when using Nasic?

If Nasic is used for a longer period of time or in higher doses, effects on the heart and circulatory functions or the nervous system cannot be ruled out. In these cases, the ability to drive and use machines may be impaired.Continuous use of Nasic can lead to chronic swelling and ultimately to atrophy of the nasal mucosa.This medicinal product contains 0.20 mg benzalkonium chloride per 1 ml, equivalent to 0.02 mg benzalkonium chloride per spray. Benzalkonium chloride can cause irritation or swelling of the nasal mucosa, especially when used for longer.

nasic may only be used after consultation with your doctor, pharmacist or pharmacist if you: /P> -increased intraocular pressure,

-Annbeitrezen cardiovy and circulatory diseases (e.g. Long-Qt syndrome, coronary heart disease, hypertension) suffer,

-Cewish cancer forms (phäochromocytom),

-hyperthyre,

Patients suffering from long QT syndrome can experience severe cardiac arrhythmias when using Nasic.Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally!

Can Nasic be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

Well sic should not be used during pregnancy as there are insufficient studies on the unborn child. It should not be used during breastfeeding, as it is not known whether the active ingredient xylometazoline hydrochloride passes into breast milk.

How do you use Nasic?

Sniffles: Unless otherwise prescribed, adults and school children should spray Nasic up to 3 times a day as needed into each nostril with the bottle held vertically; while spraying, gently inhale through the nose. The dosage depends on the individual sensitivity and the clinical effect.After surgical interventions on the nose: according to the doctor's prescription.Instructions: Pull off the protective cap for the spray head. Before using for the first time, pump several times until an even spray comes out. Insert the spray head as vertically as possible into the nostrils and pump once. Inhale gently through your nose. After use, wipe the spray head for hygienic reasons and put the protective cap back on. For all other applications, the dosingpray is ready to use immediately when you remove the protective cap and use it as described above.

Nasic should not be used for longer than 7 days unless directed by a doctor.

It should only be used again after a break of several days.

Your doctor should always be asked about the duration of use in children and adolescents.

If you forget to use Nasic, do not use twice the amount the next time, but carry out the application as described in the dosage instructions.Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Nasic have?

The following side effects can occur when using Nasic:Common (affects 1 to 10 in 100 users)Increased swelling of the mucous membranes ung (reactive hyperaemia) after the effect has worn off. Sensitive patients in particular may experience temporary slight irritation (burning or dryness of the nasal mucosa; slight, temporary nosebleeds).Uncommon (affects 1 to 10 in 1,000 users)Effects on the heart and circulatory system, such as palpitations, increased pulse rate, rise in blood pressure.Rare (affects 1 to 10 in 10,000 users)Headaches, insomnia or tiredness.Very rare (affects less than 1 in 10,000 users)Allergic reactions with shortness of breath, intolerance reactions.Nasic can cause temporary mild irritation (burning or dryness of the nasal mucosa), especially in sensitive patients.Longer or frequent use and higher doses of Nasic can lead to irritation (burning or dryness of the mucous membrane) and increased mucosal swelling, which are aggravated by increased drug use (nasal discomfort medicamentosa). This effect can occur after just 5 days of treatment and, with continued use, can cause permanent damage to the mucous membranes with crust formation (nasal discomfort sicca).

If you notice any side effects, contact your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. This applies in particular to side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.

What does Nasic contain?

1 ml solution contains:Active substances1 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride and 50 mg dexpanthenol.1 spray of 0.1 ml solution (corresponds to 0.10 g) contains: 0.1 mg xylomet azoline hydrochloride and 5.0 mg dexpanthenol.Excipients0.20 mg / ml benzalkonium chloride, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium monohydrogen phosphate, purified water.
