What is Hänseler Menopause and when is it used?

Hänseler Menopause is a herbal medicine that contains dry extracts of St. John's wort and black cohosh. It is traditionally used in women going through the menopause to relieve menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats and mild mood disorders.

If you do not feel better or worse after 6 weeks, contact your doctor.

What needs to be considered?

Consult a doctor if you have unforeseen vaginal bleeding or if you have a recurring menstrual period.

Do not take Hänseler Menopause

  • if you are allergic to Cimicifuga rhizome (black cohosh), St. John's Wort or Ranunculaceae (buttercup family), or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.if you have skin or eye hypersensitivity to light. if you are currently suffering from liver damage or kidney disease.if you are being treated by a doctor for a tumor whose growth could be influenced by certain hormones (oestrogens) (e.g. Breast cancer or other estrogen-dependent cancers).if you are being treated with any of the following medicines at the same time:
    • Preparations (immunosuppressants) used after organ transplants (e.g. ciclosporin, tacrolimus, sirolimus)Preparations (anti-HIV medicines) used to treat AIDS (e.g. amprenavir, indinavir, nevirapine and other protease inhibitors) li>Preparations (cytostatics) to treat cancer (e.g. irinotecan, imatinib)Preparations (anticoagulants) to thin the blood (e.g. phenprocoumon, warfarin)
    if you suffer from depression.if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.if you are of childbearing age and are not using contraception.
