What is Tebofortin intens 120 and when is it used?
Tebofortin intens 120 contains a dry extract of ginkgo biloba leaves. The ginkgo extract is said to have the property of improving blood circulation, especially in the area of ??small and tiny blood vessels, and thus improving the oxygen supply to tissue cells. Tebofortin intens 120 is used for declining mental performance with symptoms such as lack of concentration, forgetfulness, dizziness (with arteriosclerosis symptoms).
What should be considered?
Before treatment with Tebofortin intens 120 is started, it should be clarified whether the symptoms of the disease are not based on an underlying disease that is specifically to be treated. Frequently occurring dizziness generally requires a clarification by the doctor. If the symptoms do not subside within a reasonable time, but at the latest after 3 months, you should ask your doctor for advice. Unbalanced diet, excessive fat consumption and smoking can increase the side effects of arteriosclerosis and should therefore be avoided or limited.
When should Tebofortin intens 120 not be taken or only with caution?
If you are known to be hypersensitive to Ginkgo biloba preparations or other components of the drug (see «What is in Tebofortin intens 120 contain? »), Tebofortin intens 120 must not be used. There are no studies on the use of this medicine in children and adolescents. It should therefore not be used in children and adolescents under the age of 18. Individual cases of bleeding have been reported, especially with long-term use (whose causal connection with the intake of ginkgo preparations has not yet been clearly established). An interaction with drugs that inhibit blood clotting cannot be ruled out. Your doctor should be asked or informed about taking it before surgery. If you are known to suffer from seizures (epilepsy), consult your doctor before taking Tebofortin intens 120. Please only take Tebofortin intens 120 after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from a sugar intolerance. This medicinal product contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per film-coated tablet, i.e. essentially 'sodium-free'. it is almost «sodium-free». Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you

Can Tebofortin intens 120 be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
Based on findings from relevant studies and because Ginkgo biloba extracts can increase the tendency to bleed, Tebofortin intens 120 may be taken during not to be taken during pregnancy. It should also not be used while breastfeeding. It is not known whether the components of Ginkgo biloba extracts are excreted in human milk.
How do you use Tebofortin intens 120?
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, adults take 1 film-coated tablet each morning and evening without chewing with a little liquid. Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What side effects can Tebofortin intens 120 have?
When taking medicines containing ginkgo, gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, very rarely headaches, insomnia, restlessness , confusion, very rarely allergic skin reactions (skin reddening, swelling, itching) up to allergic shock. For the possible risk of bleeding, see the section "When should Tebofortin intens 120 not be taken or only with caution?". If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. This also applies in particular to side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.

What does Tebofortin intens 120 contain?

Active ingredients
120 mg of quantified, refined dry extract from leaves of Ginkgo biloba (Ginkgo biloba L., folium) corresponding to 26.4-32 4.4 mg flavonoids, calculated as flavonol glycosides, as well as 3.12-3.84 mg bilobalide and 3.36-4.08 mg ginkgolides A, B and C, drug-extract ratio 35-67:1, extractant acetone 60% (m/m).
Excipients
68.25 mg lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium (equivalent to 1.65 mg sodium), microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, hypromellose 5 mPas, hypromellose 15 mPas , magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, macrogol 1500, iron oxide yellow (E172), talc, titanium dioxide (E171), dimeticone, macrogol-5-stearyl ether, sorbic acid (E200).
