What is Mucosolvon retard and when is it used?
Mucosolvon retard promotes the evacuation of viscous secretion from the respiratory tract. Coughing up phlegm is easier and breathing is easier. Mucosolvon retard is used to support the treatment of impaired secretion formation in acute respiratory diseases or short-term aggravation of chronic respiratory diseases.
What should be considered?
In order to support the expectorant effect of Mucosolvon retard, you should ensure that you drink enough fluids. If you smoke, you can promote the therapeutic effect of Mucosolvon retard by not smoking.
When should Mucosolvon retard not be taken?
In the event of hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients. Due to the dosage strength, Mucosolvon retard is not suitable for children and adolescents.
Only use if prescribed by a doctor for pregnant or breastfeeding women and in the case of severe liver or kidney failure.
When should caution be taken when taking Mucosolvon retard?
A doctor or pharmacist must be consulted if the cough lasts longer than 14 days. The doctor should be consulted if there is a suspicion of a serious respiratory disease (e.g. shortness of breath, severe illness or high fever).You should consult the doctor if stomach problems occur during treatment. You should not take any antitussive medicines during treatment with Mucosolvon retard, as coughing up the liquefied mucus is impaired by the suppression of the coughing reflex and this can lead to an undesirable accumulation of bronchial mucus in the airways.If skin or mucous membrane changes occur, the doctor must be informed immediately and the treatment must be discontinued.This medicine contains small amounts of propylene glycol.Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you

Mucossolvon retard may be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding ?
If you are pregnant, planning to have children or if you are breastfeeding your child, you should avoid taking medicines as a precautionary measure. Mucosolvon retard may only be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding with a doctor's prescription.
How do you use Mucosolvon retard?
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, Mucosolvon retard is taken either with food or on an empty stomach as follows:Adults: 1 prolonged-release capsule daily, either in the morning or in the evening. In more severe cases, 2 prolonged-release capsules daily either in the morning or in the evening. The capsules should be swallowed unopened and unchewed with enough liquid.
If you suffer from severe kidney dysfunction, your doctor may prescribe a reduced dose of the drug or it may be taken at longer intervals.
Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What side effects can Mucosolvon retard have?
The following side effects can occur when taking Mucosolvon retard:
Common(affects 1 to 10 users in 100)
Nausea.
Uncommon (affects 1 to 10 users in 1000)
Vomiting, diarrhea, indigestion and abdominal pain.
Rare (affects 1 to 10 users in 10,000)
Rash and hives. These should subside quickly after stopping the therapy.
Individual cases
Allergic reactions (= acute overreactions of the immune system) to the allergic shock, and other hypersensitivity reactions such as fleeing, massive swelling, especially the lips, eyelids, tongue and itching.
