What is Biostimol and when is it used?

Biostimol drinking solution contains the active ingredient citrulline malate as an amino acid supply.

Biostimol is used as a supportive treatment for physical asthenia (severe and general weakness), especially in the case of: states of exhaustion after a long illness, weakness in old people, exhaustion after operations.

Biostimol is suitable for diabetics.

When should Biostimol not be used taken?

Biostimol should not be given to children under the age of 3 years. Do not use if you are known to be hypersensitive to the active ingredient citrulline malate or any other ingredient.

When is caution required when taking Biostimol?

Taking Biostimol does not require any special precautions, except for patients on a strict salt-free diet.Biostimol contains:

  • Sodium: 30 mg sodium (main component of cooking/table salt) per sachet . This corresponds to 1.5% of the recommended maximum daily dietary intake of sodium for an adult.Ethanol: 74.4-88.2 mg ethanol per sachet = 0.7-0.9% (W/V). The amount in one bag is less than 3ml of beer. The small amount of alcohol in this medicine has no perceptible effects.

If you are pregnant, want to become pregnant or are breastfeeding, you should only use Biostimol after consulting your doctor.

How do you use Biostimol?

Usual dosage, for a treatment period of 12 days, unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor:

Adults: 3 sachets daily

Children from 6 years of age: 2 sachet dailyChildren between 3 and 6 years: 1 sachet dailyDo not use in children under 3 years.Instructions for use: When opening, hold the sachet vertically and cut or tear open a corner. Biostimol can be taken pure or diluted in half a glass of water. Sugar if necessary. Take with meals.Observe the dose indicated in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Biostimol have?

The following side effects can occur when taking Biostimol:Uncommon: stomach upset, diarrhoea, hot flushes and nervousness. In these cases, the dose should be reduced or the treatment should be interrupted for 1-2 days.

Rare: dizziness that makes it necessary to interrupt the treatment.

If you notice side effects, contact your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. This also applies in particular to side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.

What else needs to be taken into account?

The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked «EXP» on the container. If you have expired sachets, please return them to your pharmacist or druggist.

Store at room temperature (15-25 °C) and keep out of the reach of children.
