Description - Balmed Hermal Plus oil bath bottle 200 ml
Balmed Hermal Plus is a medicinal oil bath. It was developed to treat dry, sensitive and itchy skin. The soybean oil contained in Balmed Hermal Plus is distributed in the bath water and forms a thin film on the skin while bathing. Water evaporation from the skin is reduced, which has a positive effect on the elasticity of the horny layer and relieves itching. An itching-relieving effect is achieved by adding polidocanol. Balmed Hermal Plus is therefore used for low-fat, dry and itchy skin.
After consultation with your doctor or pharmacist, Balmed Hermal Plus can also be used to support the treatment of skin diseases that are associated with dehydration, especially if they are accompanied by itching, such as atopic eczema (neurodermatitis), chronic eczema, age itching and for the supportive treatment of psoriasis.Swissmedic-approved patient information

Balmed Hermal Plus must not be used if there is a known hypersensitivity (allergy) to polidocanol, soybean oil, soybean, peanut, propylene glycol or another component of the preparation. Balmed Hermal Plus must also not be used in pustular forms of psoriasis (pustular psoriasis). Balmed Hermal Plus, like all baths, must not be used in the case of feverish illnesses, serious infectious diseases, tuberculosis, serious heart and circulatory disorders, high blood pressure, open wounds, major skin injuries and acute skin diseases.
When is caution required when using Balmed Hermal Plus?
Balmed Hermal Plus undiluted should not be brought into contact with the eyes. In case of accidental contact with eyes, flush immediately with plenty of cold water. If the symptoms of irritation persist, a doctor should be consulted. If the itching lasts longer than 7 days, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Propylene Glycol may cause skin irritation. This medicine contains a fragrance with D-Limonene and Linalool. These substances can cause allergic reactions. There is an increased risk of slipping due to the oil film on the skin and the oil film in tubs and showers! The bathtub, shower tray, and possibly also the children's bathtub, should be cleaned immediately after each bath with a conventional household detergent and then rinsed out with hot water. Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you
- suffer from other diseases, have allergies ortake other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally.
Can Balmed Hermal Plus be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
There are no concerns about using Balmed Hermal Plus during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
How do you use Balmed Hermal Plus?
Shake the preparation before use. The frequency of using Balmed Hermal Plus depends on the type and extent of the symptoms and should be determined individually. Unless otherwise prescribed, 2-3 full baths are generally taken weekly. If necessary, daily use is recommended, e.g. for babies and small children. The duration of the bath can also be determined individually, but should not exceed 15-20 minutes. For infants and small children, an application time of just a few minutes is sufficient. The bathing water temperature should not exceed 37 °C. A lower bathing water temperature (around 32 °C) is more favorable for skin oiling and is also more suitable for the treatment of itching and should be observed in particular for children. Balmed Hermal Plus is added to the bath water (not the other way around) and mixed in until it is evenly distributed. The inner part of the screw cap can be used as a measuring cup to measure the required amount. For a full bath (approx. 150 l) use 30 ml (2 measuring cups), for 1 children's bath (approx. 25 l) use 5 ml (= 1/3 measuring cup), for 1 partial bath (5 l). Add 1 ml (= 1 squirt so that the bottom of the measuring cup is covered) Balmed Hermal Plus. Balmed Hermal Plus can also be used as a shower bath. In these cases, the preparation should first be spread undiluted on the moistened skin and then showered off. In order not to affect the desired refatting, no soap should be used. Drying off too much should also be avoided, as this rubs off part of the greasy film. Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
