Description - Balmed Hermal Medicinal oil bath 200 ml

What is Balmed Hermal and when is it used?

Balmed Hermal is a medicinal oil bath. It was developed to treat dry and scaly skin lesions. Balmed Hermal supplies the skin with the missing fat. The contained vegetable oil is distributed very finely in the bath water. This ensures that it is evenly absorbed by the skin while you are bathing and easily penetrates the uppermost cell layers. A bath with Balmed Hermal has been proven to add fat to the skin without making it noticeably greasy. The water evaporation from the skin is reduced, which has a positive effect on the elasticity of the horny layer and relieves itching.Balmed Hermal is therefore used for dry skin and the itching caused by it; age itch; diaper eczema and for cleaning and caring for the sensitive skin of infants and small children.

After consulting your doctor, Balmed Hermal can also be used for neurodermatitis, psoriasis, ichthyosis, cradle cap, toxic degenerative and allergic eczema, lower leg eczema.

When should Balmed Hermal not be used?

Balmed Hermal should not be used if you have a known excess sensitivity (allergy) to soybean oil, soybean, peanut, pea or any component of the preparation. Balmed Hermal must also not be used in fresh pustular forms of psoriasis (pustular psoriasis).Like all baths, the preparation should not be used in the case of feverish illnesses, serious infectious diseases, tuberculosis, serious heart and circulatory disorders, high blood pressure, open wounds, major skin injuries and acute skin diseases.

When is Balmed Hermal to be used with caution?

B undiluted almed Hermal must not be brought into contact with the eyes. In case of accidental contact with eyes, flush immediately with plenty of cold water. If the symptoms of irritation persist, a doctor should be consulted.

The auxiliary substance butylated hydroxytoluene contained in Balmed Hermal can cause localized skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis), irritation of the eyes and mucous membranes. Propylene glycol may cause skin irritation. This medicine contains a fragrance with D-Limonene and Linalool. These substances can cause allergic reactions. There is an increased risk of slipping due to the oil film on the skin and the oil film in tubs and showers! The bathtub, shower tray and, if applicable, the children's bathtub should be cleaned immediately after each bath with a conventional household detergent and then washed out with hot water.Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you

  • suffer from other illnesses, have allergies ortake other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or externally

Can Balmed Hermal be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

There are no concerns about using Balmed Hermal during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

How do you use Balmed Hermal?

The frequency of using Balmed Hermal depends on the type and extent of the symptoms and should be decided on a case-by-case basis. Unless otherwise prescribed, 2-3 full baths are generally taken weekly. If necessary, daily use is recommended, e.g. for babies and small children.

The duration of the bath should also be determined individually, but should not exceed 15-20 minutes. For babies and small children, an application time of just a few minutes is sufficient.

The bathing water temperature should not exceed 37 °C. A lower bathing water temperature (around 32 °C) is more favorable for skin oilingand is particularly important for children.

Balmed Hermal is added to the bath water (not the other way around) and mixed in well.

The inner part of the screw cap can be used as a measuring cup to measure the required amounts. For a full bath (approx. 150 l) use 30 ml (= 2 measuring cups), for a children's bath (approx. 25 l) 5 ml (= 1/3 measuring cup) and for a partial bath (approx. 5 l) 1 ml (= 1 squirt so that the bottom of the measuring cup is covered) Balmed Hermal. If a particularly high level of oiling of the skin is desired, the concentration can be doubled or tripled. In order not to influence the desired regreasing, no soap should be used. Drying off too much should also be avoided, as this rubs off part of the greasy film.
