What is Rheumalix forte Spray and when is it used?
Rheumalix forte Spray is a medicine for external use. ?The etofenamate contained in the drug has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. When must Rheumalix forte Spray not be used?
Rheumalix forte Spray must not be used: ?on injured or eczematous skin? in case of hypersensitivity to etofenamate, flufenamic acid or other pain and anti-inflammatory substances ? in case of hypersensitivity to propylene glycol ?in the last trimester of pregnancy?while breastfeeding?in infants and young children
When is caution required when using Rheumalix forte Spray?
Rheumalix forte Spray contains 40 mg propylene glycol per 1 ml solution. Rheumalix forte Spray should not be applied to large areas over a long period of time unless prescribed by a doctor. Eyes and mucous membranes should not come into contact with the spray. Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you: ? have already used similar products (rheumatism ointments) and these led to allergic reactions, ?suffer from other diseases, ?have allergies or ?Take other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally!
Can Rheumalix forte Spray be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Rheumalix forte Spray must not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless expressly prescribed by a doctor. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist for advice.
How do you use Rheumalix forte Spray?
Adults:
Spray Rheumalix forte Spray 4-7 times a day on the affected area and its surroundings, depending on the size of the affected area, up to 9 sprays can be applied (one spray corresponds to 10 mg etofenamate). It is advisable to gently rub in the solution after one or two sprays and allow it to dry.Tell your doctor if your symptoms worsen or have not improved after 2 weeks. Children and young people: The use and safety of Rheumalix forte Spray in children and adolescents has not yet been systematically tested. Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What side effects can Rheumalix forte Spray have?
The following side effects can occur when using Rheumalix forte Spray: Rare (affects 1 to 10 users in 10,000) Local allergic reactions such as redness, rash, contact dermatitis. These usually resolve quickly after the drug is stopped. If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. This also applies in particular to side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.
