What is Parodentosan rinsing solution and when is it used?

Parodentosan rinsing solution is an antiseptic for diseases of the oral cavity and for oral hygiene. It contains chlorhexidine, which has a broad antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi, as well as herbal ingredients with a slightly astringent effect, which reduce swelling in inflamed gums and protect exposed tooth necks.Parodentosan rinsing solution is used to prevent and treat inflammation in the mouth and throat caused by bacteria or fungi, to prevent infections before and after dental operations, and to promote oral hygiene.

What should be considered?

Chlorhexidine is rendered ineffective by alkalis, soaps and negatively charged detergents. Parodentosan rinsing solution should therefore not be used with strongly alkaline water. Parodentosan rinsing solution contains alcohol.

When should Parodentosan rinsing solution not be used?

Parodentosan rinsing solution should not be used if you have a known allergy to chlorhexidine or one of the excipients.

When should you be careful when using Parodentosan rinsing solution?

Parodentosan rinsing solution should be used with caution in the case of periodontitis. Macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate may cause skin irritation. If irritation of the oral mucosa occurs, the treatment should be continued with a smaller or diluted amount.

This medicinal product contains 1.35 g alcohol (ethanol) per dispenser (10 ml) corresponding to 135 mg/ml (16% V/V). It can cause a burning sensation on damaged skin.Inform your doctor, dentist, pharmacist or druggist if you

There rf Parodentosan rinsing solution can be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child when used as intended. However, systematic scientific investigations have never been carried out. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor, dentist, pharmacist or druggist for advice.

How do you use Parodentosan rinsing solution?1. In the case of inflammation:

Rinse well with 10 ml of undiluted rinsing solution (corresponds to the content of a dosing aid) twice a day, after every meal and especially before going to bed.

2. Mouthwashes:

Depending on the severity of the inflammation, rinse vigorously with 10 ml of rinsing solution (corresponds to the content of a dosing aid) after each meal and especially before going to bed.

The use and safety of Parodentosan rinsing solution in children and adolescents has not yet been tested.

Observe the dosage specified in the package leaflet or prescribed by the doctor or dentist. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, dentist, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Parodentosan rinsing solution have?
