Alcacyl 500 Instant Powder contains the active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid. This has a pain-relieving and fever-reducing effect. Alcacyl 500 instant powder is used in adults for the short-term treatment of mild to moderately severe acute pain (headache, toothache, joint and ligament pain, back pain) and for the symptomatic treatment of fever and/or pain associated with colds . In children and adolescents only with a doctor's prescription and only as a second choice (see: "When is caution required when taking Alcacyl 500 Instant Powder?").

What should be considered?

Like all fever or painkillers, Alcacyl 500 Instant Powder should not be used for more than 5 days or be used for longer than 3 days in case of fever. Painkillers should not be taken regularly over a long period of time without medical supervision. Long-lasting pain requires a medical evaluation. Long-term use of painkillers and antipyretics, especially those that contain several painkillers, can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure. The dosage specified or prescribed by the doctor must not be exceeded. Long-term use of painkillers can contribute to persistent headaches.

When should Alcacyl 500 Instant Powder not be used?

Alcacyl 500 Instant Powder should not be used in the following cases: If you have a stomach or duodenal ulcer. If you suffer from a pathologically increased tendency to bleed. In conditions with an increased risk of bleeding (e.g. menstrual bleeding or injuries). If you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid, other anti-inflammatory drugs (rheumatism) or other painkillers and fever relievers. Such hypersensitivity manifests itself, for example, in asthma, shortness of breath, circulatory problems, swelling of the skin and mucous membranes or skin rashes (nettle fever). When is caution required when taking Alcacyl 500 instant powder?

If these diseases lead to disturbances of consciousness with severe vomiting or after they have subsided, the doctor should be consulted immediately. If Alcacyl 500 instant powder is used for a longer period of time together with cortisone preparations, blood thinners, lithium preparations for depression and tablets for diabetes, their effects can be increased. The effect of gout medicines (Probenecid and Sulfinpyrazon) can be reduced. The use of anti-rheumatic drugs or methotrexate (which is taken, for example, for chronic polyarthritis) may result in an increase in the undesirable effects. Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking other medicines (even those you bought yourself!) or using them externally. Can Alcacyl 500 Instant Powder be taken while pregnant or breastfeeding?

As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, it should only be taken according to the strict instructions of the doctor. Alcacyl 500 instant powder must not be taken in the last three months before the expected date of birth. High doses should be avoided during lactation.

How to use Alcacyl 500 instant powder?

Adults and adolescents from 12 years and heavier than 40 kg: 1-2 sachets per Ingestion, every 4-8 hours. Do not exceed 6 sachets per day.
