Lacryvisc SE, Eye Gel is a unit dose gel and is used to lubricate the eyes and treat mild eye irritation. What is Lacryvisc SE, eye gel and when is it used?
Lacryvisc SE, Eye Gel is a unit dose gel and is used to moisten the eyes and treat mild eye irritation. On the recommendation of the doctor, pharmacist or druggist resp. doctor, pharmacist or druggist, the preparation can also be used for various causes of "dry eyes". Lacryvisc SE, eye gel is preservative-free and therefore particularly suitable for people who are hypersensitive to preservatives. In addition, Lacryvisc SE, eye gel is also suitable for special contact lens examinations as part of an ophthalmological check-up.
When should Lacryvisc SE, eye gel not be used?
In the case of known or suspected hypersensitivity (allergy) to an ingredient or excipient of Lacryvisc SE, eye gel.
When should you be careful when using Lacryvisc SE, eye gel?
If the eye symptoms have not improved after 2-3 days, please consult your doctor, pharmacist or druggist resp. Consult your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. If things get worse or new symptoms appear (e.g. reduced visual acuity, eye pain, tearing, persistent reddening of the eyes), your doctor or to see your doctor. Because blurred vision and other visual disturbances may occur after the use of an eye gel, driving or operating machines should be avoided until these disturbances have resolved. Contact lens wearers should remove their lenses from their eyes before applying the gel and wait 15 minutes to put them back on. Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you
- suffer from other diseases,have allergies ortake other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them on the eye!
Can Lacryvisc SE, eye gel be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
If Lacryvisc SE, eye gel is used according to the instructions, there are no harms for the unborn child and for the infant known risks. As a precaution, however, you should consult your doctor, pharmacist or druggist before using the eye gel. Consult your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
How do you use Lacryvisc SE, eye gel?
Adults: Generally 4 times a day, or as needed, 1 drop of eye gel in the Instill in the conjunctival sac of the affected eye. The application and safety in children and adolescents has not yet been systematically tested.
Note:
When instilling, the single-dose container must be held vertically over the eye in order to optimally place the drop on the eye, whereby the aqueous eye gel immediately settles under the blink of the eye liquefied. Please also note the application description and illustration at the end of this patient information. When using a second topical ophthalmic agent at the same time, keep 5 minutes apart. Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What side effects can Lacryvisc SE, eye gel have?
The following side effects can occur when using Lacryvisc SE, eye gel:
Very common (affects more than 1 user in 10)
Blurred vision.
Common (affects 1 to 10 users in 100)
Foreign body sensation, crusted lid margins, eye irritation.
Uncommon (affects 1 to 10 users in 1000)
Swelling around the eye, conjunctival swelling, eye pain, eye itching, increased tearing, eye redness, skin inflammation on contact with the product.
Individual cases:
Hypersensitivity reactions (see also under «When is caution required when using Lacryvisc SE, eye gel?»). If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. This also applies in particular to side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.
What else needs to be considered?
The contents of an unopened single-dose container may only be used up to the expiry date marked «EXP» on the container.
Use by after opening
The contents of a single-dose container are intended for single use only. For reasons of sterility, do not use any remaining liquid after use.
Storage instructions
Store at room temperature (15-25°C), protected from light and out of the reach of children.
