What is Santasapina and when is it used?
Santasapina is an alcohol-free cough syrup with extract from fresh spruce buds, concentrated pear juice, whole cane sugar and honey. Santasapina can be used to treat a cold cough with thick mucus as a result of acute bronchitis and catarrh of the respiratory organs.
What should be considered?
If the cough lasts longer than seven days, a doctor should be consulted.

When should Santasapina not be taken or only with caution?
Santasapina (like any cough syrup) is only available for children under the age of 2 after being asked a doctor to apply. Santasapina is not suitable if you have a known hypersensitivity to one or more of the ingredients, or if you have asthma or whooping cough. Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking other medicines (even those you bought yourself).
May Santasapina taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child when used as directed. However, systematic scientific investigations have never been carried out. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist for advice.
How do you use Santasapina?
Children 2 to 10 years: 5 ml 1 - 2 times a day, children 10 to 16 years: 10 ml 2 - 4 times a day, adults: 15 ml 2 - 4 times a day using the measuring cup provided. It is recommended to take it before meals. Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
Side effects Santasapina?
No side effects have been observed for Santasapina when used as directed. However, if you observe any side effects, tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What else should you watch out for?
The syrup should be kept at room temperature (15-25°C) and out of the reach of children. Santasapina may only be used up to the date marked «EXP» on the container. Unused or expired packs should be returned to your pharmacist or druggist for disposal. Your doctor, pharmacist or druggist can provide you with further information.
What does Santasapina contain?
15 ml Santasapina contain: 4.3 g Spissum extract from fresh red fir buds (DEV 0.9-1.2:1), extractant water. This product also contains additives, including 7.8 g raw cane sugar, 4.9 g honey, 3.9 g pear syrup and flavorings.
